One thing is for certain, at least we have a Franchise QB, so with that monkey off our back, we can spend draft capital on other positions of need. We have a shitload of pics this year. Realistically, we are sitting pretty.

The only thing I disagree with is cutting Sorensen. He’s the player on Defense who showed up last night

Also, you said let Bailey walk. I didn't realize that his contract was up. Still, I think that a one year deal to bring him to camp to compete would be okay too. Although I am pretty sure that he could be easily replaced. So either move would be good. I definitely wouldn't give him a long term deal. |

He has some skills, but his ability to read the opposing offense seems very suspect. He's often out of position. That said, he did have 2 good plays last night. Maybe he needs to have a more limited role, better coaching, or some combination of both. He has a $4.7M cap hit next year. He's stealing money at that number. ($2M dead cap money)

Sorenson was by far our best safety this year, and he played less than half the season.
We have far weaker links to replace than Sorenson. If I'm choosing between him and Berry, I'll take the guy who's more likely to play next year. |

I think we need to clean house.
Only bring Houston back if he takes a significant pay cut. Otherwise, release him. Don’t bring back Ford. The franchise number is way too high. Get rid of Ragland if feasible. Not sure what that does to the cap. Get rid of Bailey and Sorensen. Let Nelson walk. Try to talk Berry into retiring. The only players I want back are Jones, Fuller (mainly because he’s so cheap), Ward, Lucas, Nnadi, DOD, and Hitchens (but only because we can’t cut him yet). I’m curious what Speaks may be if he can drop 30 lbs. Try to draft and sign the rest of spots. Oh yeah, and fire Sutton. |

NVM, that was very well written and I agree with most, if not all, of what you've said |

Peters was ass most of the season. Especially w/o Talib. He had little to do with the Rams winning season. And he didn't have the final say about getting traded to the Rams. I hope he turns it around. He should, considering the supporting defensive cast he has.

They have to hit in the draft and FA period. There wont be much money and a shit load for a few players that should be gone.
The dam pats do it every stinking year. Every other team sucks at it. Be nice to have some head hunters that can lower the boom every hit every time. I for one would be playing to mame everyone i could to get to the SB bar none we dont have any players like that. |

I'd let the new DC make all the personnel decisions. Andy and Brett should defer unless it has a major cap impact. The time for favorites is over. No more defensive personnel decisions based on ego or personal relationships. Talent and performance need to be the driving force. |

I've been thinking, the main thing the Chiefs need is a change of defensive philosophy. When a team like the Pats wants to grind out a 8 minute drive to start a game, you may as well just turn up the aggressiveness to 11. None of the bend don't break shit, either get a 3 and out or give up a TD in 2 minutes and let Pat have the ball.
Draft and sign ball hawk guys that are willing to take risks in coverage to complement this strategy. And know when to dial it down when you have a decent lead. |

Also we can't take certain parts of our opponent's strengths like teams do against us. It's like we don't even focus on that. It's literally like...what are we? We just line up and run the play given. |
