Yeah that’s the problem with anything that makes you feel better, perform better, alters your mood. Just like a medication for BP, it masks but does not correct the underlying problem. So it’s addictive, because who doesn’t want to feel better all the time. Unfortunately the brain can develop a tolerance and gradually it can require more and more to achieve the same effect, increasing the likelihood of side effects on other organ systems. That being said, some really benefit. But the abuse potential is so great. I’ve seen many young people who took it just to get an edge in their studies who ultimately became completely strung out on it, panicky, hypertensive, tachycardic, etc.
