For the record, though, I would vote for Washington in the 'greatest president' tournament.

Show some respect, junior.

Not to mention that Indiana Jones is an ORIGINAL creation instead of just copying and pasting shit out of comic books.

Indiana Jones directly borrowed from old serials and a old Charlton Heston flick.

This contest has made me a bit dispirited about the 'State of Moviedom' Basically, they are all CGI filled comic book movies, or movies in the style of comic books - with the exception of the more literary Godfather and LOTR (and I voted for CGI filled LOTR) While I really enjoyed all these movies (maybe not every sequel), I feel cheated that we don't have more diversity of style/source from which to choose.

Yeah, it's not a rich diversity. Admittedly, part of that is the CP demographic profile, and that's fine. But yeah, there's a lot of CGI stuff and pretty rote stuff in the tournament overall. Maybe that's because a lot of great movies in other genres don't lend themselves to franchise development, though. It would be hard to make a continuing series out of some road trip movie or drama or Apollo 13 or Napoleon Dynamite. So maybe the problem is just that the franchise concept is self-enclosed.
