That's funny coming from you because that's exactly how I felt on your Tyreek position.

“Hardman is far more of an established deep threat. Campbell is more of a slant specialist who can run the jet sweeps and stuff, but you have no idea about his route running. It was clear the Chiefs were looking for someone to replicate the deep threat like Tyreek does. It was interesting that Andy said that this kid picks it up quick.”

I suppose if you didn’t like the Clark trade then you could be referencing that, but when you look at the names taken at the bottom of R1, I love it at this point. And that trade also may be the only reason we were able to pick up Khalen Saunders in R3, who appears to have great upside as well.

That’s exactly what I saw when watching all of these WRs Friday morning.

Campbell never really seemed to have true WR plays that wow’d me.

I was referencing more to last year, although I still believe he could of kept the 5rh rounder. I also explained that I wasn't mad at that and blamed Tyreek mostly. But, yes we gave up too much for Frank Clark, even though I'm glad he is playing for the Chiefs.

I read somewhere that Campbell hadn't run a route past 20 yards in college. I'll see if I can find it.

I wouldn’t be surprised... his YouTube stuff is just littered with screen passes and jet sweeps.

The fact, that he wanted to throw another pick away for Thompson doesn't exactly sit well, but at least he's learning to be more patient.

Let me guess you’d rather have Scott Pioli back

Giving up one measly 5th round pick to secure our scheme with the deep threat that it needs is a bad deal? C’mon now. This offense with Mahomes running the show needs a true field stretcher and Hardman could be our DeSean Jackson.

Maybe that 5th round pick would have been okay, but we needed this WR badly in a post Tyreek Hill world.
Great post. This kid flat out flies and will keep defenses from crowding up on the line. He is almost guaranteed to draw a Safety over the top as Reek did.

Well, Warrick doesn't agree but...

The sample size for Veach is small. Last year's draft seemed off. No doubt. We can agree with that. But the fact that we traded up to get the Hill replacement? That could easily be the singular most important draft pick over the next 3 seasons given how the Chiefs offense is built around Hill and how removing his motion and speed would severely hamper this offense. That's a pick you don't **** around with. You absolutely need to get your guy and they did.

What if we left that draft with Arcega-Whiteside? Metcalf? Neither of those guys in the same tier can remotely pretend to mimic the pre-snap misdirection that Hill does. Having this chess piece makes me feel so much better even if I know he's not Hill.

This is something I was scared of, but knew Andy wouldn’t settle for. While those guys you listed and others might be good receivers, they would not have fit as well here.

They wouldn’t have had as great of an impact on how defenses defend KC. With Mecole, I think we still have a guy who needs attention from the safety over top. And if teams don’t want to respect his speed, it’s on him to make them pay.

Terez has been talking about how they wanted a burner to make their scheme run still even without Hill, and he’s in the know of course. But now we need to find someone behind Hardman for depth in case he goes down for any stretch of time. Just someone who again has speed to fear down the field.
