Chiefs announce wave of roster moves following rookie minicamp
he Kansas City Chiefs made their latest roster moves official on Tuesday.
The team announced they’d waived undrafted free agent signings Andre Lindsey, Dakari Monroe and Jamire Jordan. Jordan was waived with an injury designation. Additionally the team has waived Leon McQuay, a former sixth-round pick by the Chiefs in 2017. He’s spent a lot of time on the practice squad during his time in Kansas City. The Chiefs also announced four signings of tryout players following their rookie minicamp. We’ve already reported on Marcus Marshall, Herb Miller and Andrew Soroh. Those signings are now made official by the team. In addition to those three players, the Chiefs also added WR Rashard Davis. He’s a second-year player formerly of the James Madison Dukes. He spent time with both the Eagles and the Raiders during the 2018 season.
The Chiefs essentially replaced McQuay, Monroe and one of the receivers with these four signings. The departure of McQuay means that Patrick Mahomes and Tanoh Kpassagnon are the only players remaining from the Chiefs’ 2017 draft class. The team added another RB to the roster, bringing the total on the 90-man roster up to eight players, which is consistent with their offseason strategy from the 2018 season. Perhaps the most shocking thing about these moves is that the Chiefs still haven’t made a transaction involving a quarterback. They currently have six quarterbacks on the roster. I’m not sure how they’ll manage repetitions throughout OTA’s and the offseason program. It’s hard to see each of them truly getting a fair chance to prove themselves. https://chiefswire.usatoday.com/2019...okie-minicamp/ |

People were pretty high on McQuay. I wonder why he got cut so damn early.

Wasn't Marshall from James Madison too? Never would have thought of James Madison as a football powerhouse and producer of NFL talent.
Edit: Guess I am somewhat wrong. Per Wikipedia: Notable Dukes include Charles Haley, one of two players to win five Super Bowl rings and is also an inductee of the College Football Hall of Fame and Pro Football Hall of Fame;[2] Scott Norwood, the Buffalo Bills' all-time leading scorer; Gary Clark, an All-Pro wide receiver for the Washington Redskins; and Arthur Moats, a linebacker for the Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers who is known for delivering the sack that led to the end of the record streak of consecutive starts made by Brett Favre in the NFL. |

It’s a nice town. $250K gets you a nice 2,000sqft house with land and you are 30 minutes from multiple ski resorts. DC, Baltimore, Philly, Asheville and Charlotte are weekend getaways in the car. Seems like a cool spot.
