The best offense ever assembled?

If Tyreek is able to play for KC this year and Hardman is who the coaches are indicating he might be (Mix of Chad Johnson and Desean Jackson) then, this offense is going to be better than last year and quite simply, in conversation for the best offense ever assembled.

MVPat
Sherman
Williams/Thompson
Hill 2x first team all pro
Watkins
Hardman
Kelce best tight end in the league
Good offensive line.

Who’s better?

99 rams?
Warner
Faulk
Bruce
Holt
Proehl
Roland Williams
Good OL

07 Pats?
Brady
Maroney
Moss
Welker
Stallworth
Ben Watson
Good OL

98 Vikings?
Cunningham
Smith
Miss
Carter
Reed
Glover
Good OL

2013 Broncos?
Manning
Moreno
Decker
Welker
Thomas
Thomas
Ok ol

1998 Broncos?
Elway
TD
Mccaffery
Smith
Sharpe
Griffith

Change my mind, but I’m going into this season thinking this could be the absolute best offense ever fielded in the NFL.

Meh. If there would've been replay in '99, they wouldn't have ever won a SB.

That Rams offense was the best ever. The Chiefs offense has the potential to reach it in the coming years. Doesn’t mean it will, but it is a realistic possibility.

In terms of talent the Colts of the early 2000's are easily one of the most talented offenses in history. The cast is unreal.

I'm kinda surprised everyone thinks the 99 rams are a slam dunk for best ever. Played SF twice, they were 4-12. Played Atlanta twice, they were 5-11. The 8-8 Steve Buerline panthers twice. The 3-13 Saints twice.

That's 8 games there against teams with a collective record of 20-44. The NFC west was total trash at the time.

Plus the 4-12 bengals. The 2-14 Browns. 8-8 Lions. 7-9 Giants. 6-10 bears. 5-11 Eagles.

Might be the easiest schedule in history.

So what will be the qualifier to call the Chiefs Offense led by Mahomes THE BEST? Will it be points scored in a season? Or will they have to not only outscore the old Rams team, but have more yards and win a SB?

My guess would be.

1. Points
2. Superbowl win
3. Yardage
4. Wins for the season

If one of these is missing- some dumb Lamb fan will throw it out there to protect their legacy.

An interesting doc on the Rams from that era.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rvuyo6YkEj0

I was a bit too young to truly remember. The 2000 Rams started their season 6-0. They were averaging 44 PPG. Insane. Then they came to KC and lost 54-35 and Warner broke his thumb. Kind of took the wind out of their sails.

Wouldn’t shock me to see teams over commit to stopping Mahomes from throwing down the field, which will open a ton of running backs catching dump offs for easy yards.

Couldn't agree more on Carlos hyde. A big lumbering back doesn't make a lot of sense in this offense. PFF raved about James Williams as a receiving threat out of the backfield. Darrell Williams is a solid contributor. I even liked Kerwyn Williams before he was cut.

Thompson is a steal.

I think Hunt’s impact was way overrated but the consensus seemed to be that we took a huge step down. When did that change?

Also, every time I turn on the radio I hear that Hardman is underwhelming and may be a project. On here he’s made out be Randy Moss.

That said, yeah, I think it has a chance to be the best offense ever. They were already in the conversation.

Yeah I'm looking forward to all the dickheads that will say Mahomes took a step backwards this year if he only throws 40 TDs. You know it will happen since the chances of hitting 50 again aren't that great.

They were also incredibly innovative. "Mad" Mike Martz was way ahead of everybody. There were a ton of firsts that year.

And to whoever said Mecole is a project, its OTA's. They were saying Mahomes was a pick machine this time last year.
