Does Kevin Kietzman deserve to be fired/forced to resign?

I'm not 100% on the KK news from today. But figured we'd start a thread to discuss this topic.

Sound off below. Also feel free to add in the KK tweets and such in here.

Thanks!

He talks in public 20+ hours per week for two decades. He’s going to say some things that piss people off here or there or his show is going to be a snoozefest. The thing to do when a radio host does that thing that you consider your final straw is to turn the dial to one of your nearly infinite options in today’s internet world, not try to organize a campaign to make sure no one else gets to listen to the guy either. Making a name off being edgy and controversial doesn't come without risks and he didn't play the card right in the end.

But his words and doubling down made it easier to "Part ways"

KK's position over Hill was always based on half to zero truths. Parts of audio, what go KK into this place was the full audio and maybe some half truths. Hill will play again soon, KK might not get 3 hours a day 5 days a week ever again.

Having seen what can happen, will the Star and KCTV5 be next? One can only hope...

Of course it does! Not one single person here gives a flying **** about Andy Reid's family, the same way I could care less about what kind of a boyfriend or parent Tyreek Hill may or may not be.

Their job is to football me ; to bust their ass until their eyes bleed and to bring me as many championships as humanly possible. That is precisely the reason they exist on this Earth.

That said, in the case of Kietzman, it's a matter of years even decades of garbage finally coming home to roost tied into one particular incident. And we're happy that it occurred. We are thrilled that it finally took place. It was much-needed, and it has come to pass.

Yep I agree and we don't know the internal politics of 810 but we can infer from the other hosts comments they hated KK and maybe they were looking for a way to dump him and finally got the golden opportunity.

Your forgetting that 810 and the Chiefs have a partnership so while KK can criticize the Chiefs he better not step way over the line, which he did. It is not the first time and won't be the last that a pro sports team had someone dumped for saying stupid shit.

Also it is not like KK doesn't have options he can go on said Internet and talk all he wants and do podcasts etc. Sounds like you are going to miss him.

Even Jason Whitlock himself posted here and conveyed some of Kietzman's insecure and dickish tactics from back in the day...

He alienated a lot of people, and didn't seem to make very many friends. Making enemies in the industry you choose to work is never a good idea.

So, you're saying that 810 should be forced to keep him on staff, despite potential revenue loss? This is nothing more than a digital picket line or organized boycott. If everybody "turned the dial" rather than publicly sharing their opinion, it's very likely that 810 would begin losing advertisers and revenue. It's also very possible the Chiefs would end their relationship with 810, causing even more revenue loss.

810 parting ways with KK is a smart move that protects the company, regardless of whether the listeners boycott quietly or vocally.

Why KK had such a boner for going after Coach Reid on this Reek thing is a little perplexing. Over the 20 years he's been on the air, he's been basically a "Baghdad Bob" type of air personality. He'd say whatever the sales dept wanted him to say. He had a chip on his shoulder on the Chiefs ever since King Carl told him to F off. But when 810 got back in the Chiefs graces when Pioli came in, he would toss super softball questions to his QB interviews, especially with Alex Smith. Same thing with the Royals. When 810 had the Royals, they NEVER offered a harsh critique, and interviews with the GM or Manager were again super softball stuff. After the Royals went over to 610, KK started blasting them. Then the Royals got good, and that put an end to that for a few years. KU guys hate KK because he's a K-State guy. That's understandable. He's said some pretty bad stuff about the basketball program and Bill Self over the years. All these guys are going to leave a trail of baggage after doing the job for a decade or more. Fescoe is the same animal except he's a KU shill. I think ten years is about max for that job before you need to give somebody else a chance. KK had his own little sandbox since he was in the ownership group at Union Bcasting. It'll be interesting to see what they do to replace him; and interesting to see what he does next. Maybe Brad Fanning can get him a job working with him at Foot Locker???

I think he's saying that 810 should be able to do whatever they want including firing him without mob justice from people on social media behind it.

Cause the ironic thing is that mob justice is exactly what people are against when it comes to Kareem Hunt and Tyreek Hill.

I'm not forgetting that. I don't know what, if anything, the Chiefs have said to 810 behind the scenes, but I'm not criticizing them. I'm criticizing the social media lynch mob.
