I don't think it's really that. I just firmly believe that we'd all be better off if we worried less about the things that don't really impact our lives directly. I understand the impulse to disengage. And perhaps if it was just Nike and their failed QB up to their hijinks, I'd be even more blase [FTR, despite the exchange here I'm more eye roll than kettle boil on the matter]. But if you have presidential candidates weighing in favorably on the disparagement of revolutionary era icons, you might consider a modicum of engagement.
