Or even 20 percent. Lol I stole the 15 percent line...
15 is a team friendly deal, but fully guaranteed on a 6 year deal? That's a lot of money... Last edited by SAUTO; 09-03-2019 at 08:52 PM.. |

The alternative is far worse than paying Goff. Goff is a top 10 caliber “good” QB and those rarely become available. They are almost always top 5 picks.
The only recent QB’s taken at reasonable spots that became Goff’s level or higher are Brady, Rodgers, Brees and Wilson (Dak is overrated). So your options are to give up a haul to get high enough to draft one (Wentz) or pay a premium for an established “good but not great” QB already (Cousins). It’s not easy finding a QB.

I think 20 percent would make him 60 million a year within 5 years. I think the salary cap is going to go crazy. Gambling. And don't be surprised if they go the medical marijuana route either...
Things are going to change there. |

Based on Rodgers and Wilson the last couple years, it seems the top of the market is around 18.5% of the cap. I don't know if Mahomes will be the one to push for this type of guaranteed percentage deal. Mayfield will definitely do it in Cleveland.

I heard that the Rams wanted to sign Goff to a deal with a low base salary and massive bonuses every time he makes a second read on a play. But Goff's agent said no to that.

I'm happy for Goff that he will now be able to afford a 3 bedroom 2.5 bath 1,500 square foot house in LA. Detached one car garage, of course.

Just give Mahomes a 10 year $400 million contract and be done with it.

It's insane how big of a gap there is between Mahomes and the next group. Rodgers, Brees, and Brady won't be around long either. Wilson is 31, so he probably only has a few more years of being elite. Chiefs are going to be the next dynasty, book it! |

I really hope he can afford to hire a guy to clean up all the homeless people's shit out of his yard. Guys gonna have a family soon and I'd hate for his kid to step in that.

Yeah, Goff got them to the SB and had a better statistical year. He also had 4 4th qtr comebacks and 4 game winning drives. I'd probably take Goff over Brady if I had to pick one of those 2 for this year.
