It seems to me the Chiefs aren't giving a firm timeline because it's likely performance dependent. If they lose the next 2 games (which is not at all unlikely considering it's two of the best teams in the league), it would not surprise me to see him back against the Titans. More wins buys more rest.

In that scenario I think the Chiefs should hold Mahomes out through the bye.

If the Chiefs go 2-1 with Moore they can beat the Chargers with him (Denver/Flacco beat the Chargers) and it avoids playing Mahomes in Mexico City for his first game back.

No team that has played on wild card weekend has made the SB since 2012. It’s tough as ****.

1.We will win the division regardless of whether he returns after 3 weeks or after the bye.
2.We will not have homefield advantage through the playoffs regardless of whether he returns after 3 weeks or after the bye.
3.The extra rest will allow his knee AND his ankle to heel and be strong for the stretch RN and playoffs.
4.The extra time will force the rest of the team to get their act together and not rest on PMs laurels.
5.He is the most valuable commodity the Chiefs have had and will ever have.

This is a 15 year investment. Why risk it now? Brady will be gone in another year or two. Dynasty will be ours. Why risk it for nothing?
