So why can't Andy Reid put in Sherman to block, Darwin to run/pass out of the backfield, and give Williams and Shady a rest? Seems like it could be great if the kid can't pass block well.

I've seen nothing but great things said about what he does in practice. He has touched the ball, what less than 5 times all year? Give the guy a chance and than we can see what we have.

Reid has always been weary of rookies no mater how talented. He will play a vet over a rookie especially one that handles the ball till that vet plays his way off the starting roster. Pat Mahomes is an example he was outperforming Smith in camp and practice the whole team was blown away yet he sat. Kareem was the same if not for Ware's career ending injury in preseason im sure he would have sat or had just rest snaps for Ware. I am sure Bieniemy had a lot of nagging and input into Kareem starting instead of trading for a starting back. Andy isn't unique here as many coach have same philosophy being reluctant to start rookies who handle the ball right out the gate. I do suspect Darwin has some playbook and QB protection problems to iron out but he is coming and soon i am sure as Shady was a way to give the kid some time to iron it out.

I called him a change of pace back during the pre-season, and people lost their minds and called me a dumbass for not thinking he was going to be the biggest steal in fantasy, and become our #1 every down back... lol
Man, the pre-season has a way of fooling us into thinking certain players are 10x better than they are. Hopefully by next year, they'll be more comfortable with him and get him into the rotation. |

Can’t run if you can’t block. And this line has been a hodgepodge mess all year. Zero consistency

How many times did he allowed a sack or pressure this season, including the preseason? How the **** do you know he cant pass block? Because it's the typical CP false narrative about a player?
Pat runs for his life every play because teams can key in on him because our run game sucks. We need someone that can run the ball so our opponents have to fear our run game. It's been Darwin time for weeks. Our backs suck shit and can't hold onto the ball, but Andy doesn't trust rookies. What could Darwin do worse? Give him a god damn chance. |

Nobody has any idea why he isn't playing and don't give me that blocking BS like any of our other small fast backs could block better than him over the years

I have no problem going to battle with Darrelle Williams at RB. Solid vision and power. Can get the tough yards.

I know he looked preseason, but it's not like he's done shit with any of the snaps he's gotten since then. Looks like he's at 1.6 yards per rush and 3.3 yards per reception so far for the year. Small sample size of course, but it's not like he's given the coaches any reason to assume he's a hidden gem.
To me, his ceiling is probably a DAT-level gadget player. |

Look, he may be good or even great. I hope so. But CP is famous for identifying dudes in training camp that were gonna be the next great whatever, only to never be heard from again until they are drudged up in a comical/sarcastic way on a CP thread 3 years from when they last appeared in a game.
