Is it time to replace Arrowhead with a dome?

The cold, crappy Dec/Jan. KC weather doesn't appear to provide any real home field advantage anymore.

At least the fans wouldn't be so miserable in a nice climate controlled facility. No more thousands of no shows or leaving at halftime on bad weather days.

Dude the place was packed. Lower bowl was full. Upper bowl was full on the chiefs side and end zones. Probably 60-70% on visitors side. Fans love snow games.

Well the type people who won't go to bad weather games and eat their tickets won't drive to a dome in it either.

I don't like weather having an impact on football games. It sucks, but it's part of it.

I think teams that play in domes tend to struggle in the playoffs when they have to go play outside. May not be evidence of it, but seems like it to me.

Well the Pats will blow the curve on that stat, but I get your point. Now, add a propensity to cheat AND playing outside, that might be a slam-dunk for the Pats.

Could you imagine how loud Arrowdome would be? It would be epic...

They play outside and have won plenty of postseason games against dome teams. Allegedly..

Would rather see them spend that money on a rolling roof than on that stupid ****ing airport.

At least the residents of KC will get to see some benefit to it. The airport won't help anyone but the people who end up having a layover here.

Yeah that's not what I meant. I was saying dome teams having to go outside and win. My fault.

Yeah but they'd be able to sell their tickets to someone who would be willing to drive to the game and sit in a covered stadium. I'd buy that ticket from them. But I wouldn't be willing to drive in bad weather and then sit/stand in that same bad weather for 3 hours and then drive back home.

The rams (greatest show on turf) seemed to benefit from not having to play an outdoor playoff game.

I think this past sunday's game would have been entirely different if we were playing the ravens or titans. (meaning, I think we lose some of the advantages we have with our offense)

I get the macho argument of "football is meant to be played in the elements".......but that was good for the 70s and 80s, before Sunday Ticket and online streaming sites.

These days, the home experience is so good already (sunday ticket, big screen TVs, etc.), that when you throw bad weather into the mix - all the more reason for some to stay home.

For me personally, I dont want our team to lose any advantage it has by playing in a downpour or ice/snow storm (or even wind for that matter like the raiders game).

The Cardinals stadium is a fantastic place to see a game. Very similar amenities and look/feel to Arrowhead (especially in club).......and they have the added bonus of the retractable roof.

Some of this just comes down to the team you have and the opponent.

I hate the fact that a squad like Oakland or Denver could come in here completely overmatched and maybe in some pouring-ass rain/wind maintain a punchers chance against a far superior opponent.

But in the Alex Smith or Marty days, I liked the possibility of the field neutralizing some advantages from more explosive teams.

So gimme a rolling roof where we can open/close when we want and based on opponent. For the foreseeable future, the Chiefs will almost always see a benefit from a 'clean' set of conditions.
