I’m as big of a cynic as can be when it comes to the Chiefs. I often pointed out during the Alex era that if it came down to us depending on Alex for a game winning drive, we’d likely be out of luck.

Last year, I consistently beat the drum that our run defense was enough of a problem for us to get bounced.

This year, for the first time of my adult life as a Chiefs fan, I can confidently say this team is good enough to go all the way.

Now, could we lose on the road to Lamar Jackson and the Ravens revamped D? Sure, they’re great. Could we lose in the Super Bowl to a balanced team like the 49ers, Packers or Saints? We sure could.

But for the first time in my life, there isn’t a team standing in the way that I think is better than the Chiefs. The Steelers felt better in 2016, the Patriots felt more complete last year. But this year? I’d take us against anyone. The Chiefs still may lose, because, well, that’s football - but I challenge anyone to find a Chiefs roster from the past 50 years that could handle this team as it stands now. This team is complete enough to bring KC a title, and I haven’t said that about the Chiefs since I was in elementary school (9-0 in 03 had me stoked).

For a big chunk of this season we were puttering about losing to the AFC South. A few game winning streak doesn't change the fact that this team, while able to be anyone, can also lose to anyone.

What do the previous 50 years have to do with this year? We never had a great offense and defense at the same time since the early 70s, so those failures are irrelevant.

I've been quiet on the prediction front. Belicheat's probably been taping our practices with a ****ing NSA satelite or some such ****ing hogshit.

Any given Sunday and all, but I think we can win the thing. I worry about our OL against some good defenses, but I like my chances with Mahomes. I've said it before, He's the best I've ever seen.
