Annual Eat Crow Thread - 2019 Edition

This one will feel better because we're freaking SUPER BOWL CHAMPS (That never gets old)

But we all have some crow to eat.

I don't remember too many flaming hot takes I had but here goes:

Frank Clark - He did suck ass when I was saying it, but dude earned his money. Well done, sir.

Spagnoulo - I didn't go crazy flaming the guy, but I didn't really like the hire. Especially when we were soft bitches against the AFCS.

Mathieu - Again, I wasn't flaming the guy, but I've never thought this guy was the answer at anything. All the way back to college. Wrong-o Douche! This guy also earned that money. Couple that with the article about Reid and Spags turning over the leadership keys to him, my goodness. Dude earned that shit.

Reid - I've always appreciated Reid, specifically because we came from the Squimin Herman Mother****ing Sack of **** Edwards/Scott Franchise Killer Pioli eras. But I didn't think he could get it done. Too much loyalty. Too many management errors that will get you beat. Too much Because Chiefs. Load that plate up!

CB group in general - I thought these guys would get us beat. YUM

Other Football Crow

Lamar Jackson - I didn't think he'd be as effective as he was. I still think it's a losing proposition, but he deserves some credit I didn't give him.

Dorsey - Maybe it's not all his fault, but I figured he'd make something work there. Obviously there is some level of it's not me, it's you thing going.

Kliff Kingsbury - I know it's a long way from actually doing anything but I thought there was a fair chance he'd be justifiably fired by midseason. He may still end up being nothing, but he made it farther than I'd have guessed.

Drew Lock - At least looks competent out there. That's far different than I expected.

What do you guys have. I'm sure there is a lot of crow to eat. Load up boys!

Chiefs were 10-0 with the offense at full go..

Outscored teams 31-15 the last half of the season. Dominant champs.

Mathieu - I was wrong about the guy. I thought he was too small to be a difference maker and I really, really wanted Landon Collins. Whoops.

I was wrong about Rashad Fenton, thought he would be the weak link of the draft.

I was wrong about Mecole Hardman and thought the Chiefs should have drafted Parris Campbell instead.

I also was dubious on Juan Thornhill but that's 100% Seth Keysor's fault.

Everything else I was a ****ing fortune teller

I also thought Clark was a bust early but as it turns out that's b/c he was playing hurt.

I thought the season was over after the Titans loss. Not b/c the Chiefs weren't good but b/c at that point it just felt like one of those years where you're snakebit with injuries.

Other teams,
Lock is better than I thought.
Josh Allen is better than I thought.
Seems I always like the Chargers & they blow.
I was all aboard the dump Houston and Goddamned Ford. I wanted no part of that again.

I was mad at Clark after he sucked ass.

I thought for sure Mahomes would throw for 4 or more TD's in the SB.

I’d like to apologize to Andy Reid.

He finished a season without major gaffes.

He delivered to KC what no one thought was possible ( and wasn’t until Mahomes )

I was really hard on Clark early, and Watkins midway through

Other than that I was pretty damn positive about how things were shaping up... and yeah didn’t expect much from Fenton but neither did anyone else, so that’s a wash

Figured Spags was an upgrade
Reid was a no brainer
Very pro Veach

I didn't think the chiefs would get over the hump. It took a Jordan like player to do so, but whatever.

I hated Frank Clark and Damien Williams. Really really hated them, but to be fair I hated them because they absolutely sucked complete shit for long stretches of time. I have done a complete 180 on both and feel like im completely infatuated with both of them. I am 100% sure my infatuation with Frank will turn into complete loving bliss.

Damien Williams on the other hand could be a guy that I think needs replaced. I can never hate the guy and he has been given an extremely long leash. That leash gives him until the playoffs and if he is even close to repeating this year's playoffs the leash is then extended.

None of them will admit it. Theyll all act like they wanted Mahomes to start. Then they can bring up how without Smith Mahomes would have never been who he is.

If Damien Williams is on the Chiefs for the next 4 or 5 years he could possibly break the all time career playoff touchdown record
