Hope this puts a little perspective on how impactful this Super Bowl appearance and win was for the older guys around here........

Not only that, but I think it’s actually worse when you get close so many times instead of being a franchise like the Browns that is perpetually bad and the fans never get their hopes up. In the last 30 years, KC has been to the playoffs 16 times and had 5 seasons where they had winning records and didn’t make the playoffs, including a 10 win season in 2005. Those dark years between 72 and 88 haven’t left anywhere the mark on me than the post Marty/CP years have.
