I also don't understand all the talk that the coaching staff doesn't have any confidence in him. He got a goal line carry in the Super Bowl for Christ sake.

People had a desire to see a Kareem Hunt clone. The guy had some nice flashes of talent in preseason against 3rd stringers, and he clearly has a great speed/power combo when he runs, so unwittingly, he was going into a situation where fans would place unreasonable expectations on him.

The NFL doesn't work like that. Darwin needs to keep improving, but if he does, there's no reason at all why he can't be a decent backfield contributor for the Chiefs in 2020.

That being said, he should also probably study up on the NFL rules for advancing a fumble. That would be helpful.
