I haven't taken the time to add up the number of Comp Picks the Chiefs have received since then but if memory serves, it's less than 4.

Are you serious right now? Sammy fricken Watkins is our third receiving threat. We spent a second rounder last year to groom on Hardman who runs a 4.3. We arguably have two #1 WRs and the best receiving tight end in the league by far. If you're concerned about where were at with an injury to wide receiver how do you feel about RB, LB, corner or offensive line?

Yep Watkins and Robinson are free agents in 2021. We still have Hill and Hardman under contract however. Go take a look at our situation at running back and corner in 2021. Cupboard is 100% bare. If I was a betting man we will go RB, Corner or Corner, RB with our first two picks.

Watkins had 673 yards and 3 TD's in the regular season last year, with all three TD's and 198 of those yards coming in Game 1 against Jacksonville. He's always injured and hasn't played a full 16 game season since his rookie year in 2014.

The Chiefs most definitely need to add a WR in the draft.

He's a former #4 overall pick and comes up enormous in the biggest games. 100% of the teams in the league would take him as their third threat next year and be thrilled. Listen, I'm all for keeping the offensive weapons stocked and loaded and keeping this train rolling but to say WR is a need NEXT year I cant get on board with. It is a joke around the league how stacked we are at the position. I'd prefer we address RB this year and WR the following.

It's not a joke. Your takes are absolutely horrific and way off base.

Without true receiving threats on the field, it's easier to take away Hill and Kelce. The Chiefs have been far more successful when they have their full compliment of wide receivers and running backs, but that was very rare during the 2019 regular season.

They can't afford to pass up quality offensive weapons in this draft, especially when teams like the Ravens are improving as well.

Hopefully, they will still be able to get one of the best players at a position.

I don’t think they are going to go with the 5th best WR, 3rd best LB, or the 3rd best CB if their top #1 rated G/C, RB or even S is sitting there. It just depends how the draft goes and who falls I guess.

Pretty exciting to think a top rated player falling to the very end of each round though

If we come out of the draft filling in the few holes, the chiefs will seriously be unstoppable

Don’t use a first round pick on a RB.

I’d draft this guy in the 2nd round:

Clyde Edwards-Helaire's use in the passing game is what distinguishes him as the best back for the Chiefs, and it's what drives his fit-value when paired with the Chiefs.

The LSU product is the highest-rated pass-catching back, as measured by route diversity, precision and yards after the catch adjusted for route type (in 2019). On the ground, Edwards-Helaire's ability to avoid run-stopping contact (as measured by positive yards earned after hip direction changed when a defender was within 3 feet) ranked second-best in 2019 among RBs in this class.

Chiefs running backs were not a source or threat of big plays last season, adding Edwards-Helaire would allow the Chiefs offense to be more multiple and would drive overall efficiency.

He’s not looking at just next year.

It takes most receivers a while to learn this offense and work into it. Two of the Chiefs top 4 receivers are FA after this year and unlikely to return. Their #5 is a JAG.

The 2021 WR draft isn’t going to be nearly as deep or as good.

So in this draft, the Chiefs could plan for letting Watkins and Robinson walk next year and having a third option ready to slide into place, while also taking advantage of the depth at that position and getting a better player than will likely be available to them next year.

The WRs available with the Chiefs’ second pick might not even make it to their first draft position next year (which is going to be 32 again).
