Chiefs draft notes from Terez/Robinson podcast

Just listened to Terez and Robinson on the Yahoo Sports podcast.

- Robinson heard from 2 different sources that the Chiefs have been kicking the tires on a lot of potential 1st round round WR’s. Specifically mentioned Reagor and Shenault.

- Terez said the Chiefs will go IOL early (first 2 days) and watch out for Cesar Ruiz after a trade down.

- Terez likes Dobbins and has heard the Chiefs are interested as well, but they also really like DeAndre Washington.

- The bottom line is the Chiefs are going to “pump up the asset of Mahomes” early.

Also a good nugget. Robinson’s sources says that there are going to be about 10 times in the 1st round where everybody simply says “wtf” and this will be the craziest draft ever.

I know we could use a linebacker or cornerback, but I love the idea of another top flight WR for Mahomes.

Defense needs help badly, but gotta say I wouldn’t be mad with that strategy... just keep piling on the offense to the point it’s completely unstoppable

Super glad to hear about that early IOL

I wouldn’t say badly. Sure they could use upgrades at LB and CB, but it’s pretty much the same defense that just won the Super Bowl.

All true, but it’s also true that no one we play is standing pat... most will improve to one degree or another

But as stated, it’s hard not to get hard thinking about adding even MORE top talent to this O

I am a huge fan of Shenault and think he brings something no one else on the offense does so I can get behind that.

I have my thoughts and positions I'd like addressed, I think I've been clear.

That being said, there's literally nothing Veach and company might do that's going to piss me off.

A case can be made for just about anything.

Unlike so many people that have posted about the draft this year, it wouldn't bother me a bit if the Chiefs choose offensive players with four of their five draft picks.

At the end of the day, how could anyone really argue with the Chiefs drafting a center, guard, WR, RB and either a LB or CB, for reasons already explained in this thread?

I have the Cowboys down to 3 players based on some studying, Cesar Ruiz, AJ Terrell, Chaisson.

I think if anything weird happens and Henderson or Okudah fall a bit Dallas will try to swing hard to trade, if either is there at Clevelands pick Dallas will do everything to move, could even see them go that route with Jacksonville.

And I think I'm on board with the Dane plan. If they can get a first round talent at 32 but it happens to be a RB well **** it, take the Running back.

Ultimately I think I want the Chiefs to take the talent value rather than reaching hard for positional value.

The only way I'd be remotely frustrated is if Queen/Murray were there, but I'm guessing the Chiefs are thinking New Orleans will take the hometown boy.
