Round 5: Pick No. 177: MIKE DANNA, DE, MICHIGAN

Looking ahead, the 3 guys I want most are:
1) Bryce Hall (think he has the best tools of any DB left in the draft. And wouldn’t have to start Day 1)
2) Willie Gay (Speed at LB is a must)
3) Jeremy Chinn (This guy is a freak. At 6’3” 225 I think he could add a little to his frame and be an elite LB/S hybrid similar to Isaiah Simmons.)

Amik Robertson is the actual best CB left for what he can do, if he as 3 inches taller he would have already been picked.

Fenton is already our nickel unless you think he can play outside? And Mathieu can play the slot as well, so I simply don't see a nickel only corner as a good idea.

Dorian O'Daniel was in that same boat as well as a LB/S hybrid. Maybe his failure is on him alone, but I don't really trust those types right now. There have been other examples of LB/S hybrids not working out in the NFL.

The draft threads are always entertaining. They go something like this every year:

And with the_____pick, the Kansas Chiefs pick ______. This is always followed up by several people saying, What are they thinking! They could of had _________ with that pick! Veach you dumb son of a bitch! The various news stories and videos start to come out about the players we picked and the reaction is, oh, I'm really starting to warm up to ______ good call Veach!

To each their own, but at this point, I go with the theory that they know more about the players they draft then I do and subscribe to the I'll wait and see program.

I posted that yesterday, some things never change. Clyde will be fine, the Chiefs will be fine and we are going to make another run this year. I'm just glad we have something to take all our minds off of the Rona of doom for a few days.

Fenton is better outside, Mathieu is more or less the nickel guy.

There is no way to evaluate the value of a RB as a 1st round pick until you know what else we get in the draft.

As long as we fill needs with good players it doesn't matter where they get drafted and a long term solution at RB was a need.
