I get that. But if you don’t have a Mahomes, you still have to be competitive and keep winning. What they should be doing he looking for a better QB than Tannehill in the draft. Like the chiefs did with Alex Smith.

The problem is that they gotta pay Henry now. I'm just not a fan of building around a RB. Not in 2020.

Steelers fans were upset when Bell sat out, but for the money they saved not paying Bell, Conner produced very similar stats. No, he did not replace Bell completely, but he was much more cost effective. The average career length for running backs is a little less that 5 seasons, and depending on their usage, the number of seasons a running back stays elite is less than that. Two years ago Gurley was an elite running back. Devonta Freeman had two elite seasons. David Johnson had one elite season. Once upon a time, Larry Johnson had back to back 1700 yard seasons, and it was only the 3rd time that had happened in NFL history. Paying a large percentage of your salary cap to a running back is not a formula for long term success. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk |

They don’t have to pay him do they? Agreed, I don’t like building around a RB. I’m not sure about his contract status? But I’d let him walk when it’s up.

Not sure what their philosophy is about that though? Since Vrabel seems old school.

He's a reclamation QB for a reason. Right now, they run a ton of play action and it is working. He's playing FAR above his career line. It won't last forever.

They just gave Tannehill a new deal. They aren’t taking a QB high for a year or two.
