Let’s be clear — 2020 Mike Remmers was a starting caliber RT

But counting on it to be that way again makes me nervous as ****. I hope we’ve got a lot more moves to be made throughout the roster here soon.

Last year proved one thing - we need a minimum of 3 quality tackles, and 4 would be ideal. Especially since a tackle can always move inside to guard.

The Chiefs have signed Mike Remmers to a 1-year deal worth up to $6.8 million with $3.3 million guaranteed, a source confirmed. Remmers will be at right tackle, likely in a competition with rookie Lucas Niang.

And yes, the Chiefs are still pursuing a veteran left tackle.

I don’t mind Remmers at RT. Was pretty good there. But giving him the job is rich.

I was thinking he was OK at RT, but I agree giving him the starter's job is a bit premature. And Andy may have something to say about it, too.

At some point we have to find out just what Niang's ceiling is. If LT turns out to be a good fit, groovy. If not, Veach will have a plan. I still think Fisher's expected recovery plays into our plans.

My guess is it’s his job until he loses it with inadequate play or gets hurt. Niang is going to be on his heels.

If there are no takers I could see us stashing Fisher in the summer for the playoffs.
