I agree with staylor26's earlier post on comp picks for the Chiefs. Maybe if Bashaud Breeland, and/or Austin Reiter get some type of big dollar contracts the comp formula becomes positive for the Chiefs. But Austin Blythe won't count against the Chiefs either.

Quote:
The latest player to fall in that category is former Los Angeles Rams C Austin Blythe, who agreed to terms with the Chiefs on Tuesday. According to Houston Chronicle beat writer Aaron Wilson, Blythe’s one-year deal with the Chiefs includes a $990K fully-guaranteed base salary and an additional $760K in playtime and performance incentives. That number comes in under the qualifying number of $1.75 million for the NFL’s compensatory pick formula.

Is there anybody other than King on CP that doesn’t know that Reiter’s run blocking was a constant issue the last 2 years?

We’re a passing team, so they obviously put up with it, but to argue against the fact that they clearly wanted more balance there after letting him walk and replacing him with a guy that does just that is ****ing reeruned.

Who doesn’t think that Reiter’s run blocking was an issue the last 2 years? This is exactly why I say King has no ****ing clue when he tries to talk football.

I never at any point talked about whether Reiter was good or bad at run blocking. What are you talking about?!? .

Btw, being the upgrade Blythe is over Reiter, I can see why you kept on bringing him up before we actually signed him. Kudos.

Thanks, buddy.

Very interesting that Veach gave Blythe a deal BARELY under that exact number. It’s a clear sign that he and his team FACTOR in the comp picks into these signings.

When’s the date player signings don’t impact the comp pick formula?

Wtf are you even talking about? How am I “trying to decide” what the point is? It was MY ****ing point about Reiter that led us to part B of this argument.

If Reiter signed the contract, it would’ve likely been a cheap 1 year deal. He’d be a stop gap and nothing more.

He’s an above average pass blocker, so he obviously has some value on this team, but his run blocking is and has always been the issue. Everybody seems to get this but you.

Right.

To play center and backup up RG in an emergency. Not to play RG.

You didn’t say it. You just argued against my point when I said it.

So you either didn’t get my point, or you’re just being a disingenuous bundle of sticks per usual.

When did I say it wasn't an issue? Putting him between two good run blockers would help him out though donchathink?

I argued that Reiter was a good run blocker? That's interesting. Don't remember that. Link?

But that’s not what the Chiefs chose to do, so they clearly disagree don’t you think?

Also, both Thuney and Long’s strength is pass blocking, not run blocking. Maybe get a clue and all of this won’t be so difficult for you!

I know. But it would be a good balance. And something I'd prefer over Long/LDT at RG. Just trying to talk some football while Staylor flirts with me

Just because you have a strength in something doesn't make the other thing a weakness. From what I've heard Thuney is still a very good run blocker.

And Longs strengths are his relationships with OR physicians. He doesn't factor into what I was talking about.
