I don't think there's any fixing that. It looks like Sutton's last defense, it's that hopeless. Only with zero pass rush.

On that side of the ball, the spirit is not willing. Time to gut it and rebuild.

I still have hope they can go on a run. The 2018 defense was also a dumpster fire and they came within an offsides of going to the SB. In a way I think them not making the playoffs is a good thing. Allows for them to cut dead weight and address positions of need with blue chip talent and not the end of every round talent.

I have a feeling that this is going to light a fire. Everyone in the media and most of the fanbase has done nothing but trash these guys since Sunday. They’ve been repeatedly called a bad football team and told they’re done. If that doesn’t motivate a person, nothing will.

I don't think so. The Chiefs have themselves to thank for this dumpster fire of a season so far. The fans aren't abandoning the team, but they are calling it like they have seen; exactly as the Chiefs put their product on the field: horrible.

They've played a really tough schedule and are two self-inflicted errors away from 5-2. Bad teams can't say that.

Their turnover issues have defied the odds. I don't see how anybody could expect that to continue. The offense had moved the ball as well as ever until a bump in the road Sunday. Even if the defense struggles all year, that's no different than 2018.

If you're gonna count it that way, you have to take away the Cleveland win, because they won that because of a turnover. It works both ways...

Due to one turnover in the middle of the game? They couldn't put a drive together at the end.

It's a little different when you're talking about 4 TOs to 0, or a fumble when you're already in position for a game-winning FG.

Absolutely, it was the timing of it. Cleveland was marching down the field going to go up by double digits again. And they fumbled. So yes, that was a big factor in why the Chiefs won that game. Had they gone down by double digits again, I bet the chances were very slim the Chiefs could have come back from that. That's the thing, everybody is so quick to say because of the turnovers this and that, but again, it goes both ways.

I think Spags has lost the defense. I don't think it's necessarily his fault, but I don't see Clark, Jones, or Reed suddenly deciding to go all out every play the rest of the season. They got paid, Two of them got their rings.

They took some criticism after the Buffalo loss, but very few people were actually calling them a bad team or declaring their season over. They're getting a lot of disrespect right now and I'm sure they're aware of it.

Interested to see if the Cowboys are actually any good because their schedule doesn't really show it.

Also interested to see the Packers/Cardinals, because the Packers' offense hasn't been the juggernaut that this thread would indicate. At least the Cowboys' offense has performed well against garbage teams... the Pack have been pretty mediocre across the board.

And that's not to say the Chiefs can beat either team right now regardless of whether they're SB contenders or pretenders... it's tough for me to pick 10+ wins at this point.
