Some Things About Today's Game Week 11: KC 19 Cowboys Number 9....Number 9...Number 9

Some Things About Today’s Game Week 11: KC 19 Cowboys 9

Mrs B and I have both been under the weather. I went to the Green Bay Game then missed almost a whole week of work with Bronchitis. Mrs B has the same thing and is just now getting to where she’s not barking like a circus seal. So I sold my seats for a fistful of Benjamins, and hickory smoked some ribs on my bullet smoker. I’m so glad we had a nice day, so that weather wasn’t an issue for the game.

All week long I’ve had to listen to all the national pundits diss the Chiefs -especially the defense-, so I’d just like to say -and I mean this with all sincerity- FU Michael Irvin. FU NFL Network. FU Terry Bradshaw. FU Jimmy Johnson, and especially a Giganatic FU to Troy Aikman and Joe Buck. Buck’s nose still smells like Madison Bumgarner’s rectal cavity, and I loathe when he darkens our door at either stadium. I’d like to invite all of these nattering neybobs of negativity to have enthusiastic sex with the Preston Road Trophy.

I listened to Mitch and the Chiefs broadcast, so I only caught bits and pieces of Aikman following the Fox broadcast. Cowboys didn’t have Cooper. Waaaaah. His own fault for not getting a vaccination. Lamb concussed in the first half. Waaaaah. He got hit upside the head. Dallas laid a cheap shot on Mahomes’ helmet when he was already down, and it was ignored by the refs. Dak was overthrowing guys. Waaaaah. Maybe the pass rush had something to do with that? Wilson dropped a couple open passes. Maybe our secondary had something to do with that? Waaaah. Again, FU Aikman. Aikman was like “Geez, how is that NOT pass interference?” Like the refs didn’t give Dallas any help. CEH gets an unsportsmanlike penalty for simply pointing at the Cowboys Defense. Trey Smith gets 30 yards in penalties on one play. Fenton gets his frickin’ helmet ripped off on the Dallas Sideline and gets and Unsportsmanlike penalty for simply pointing at his face and saying “HEY..those guys RIPPED MY HELMET OFF!” The national NFL guys had to at least make the field refs call the face mask penalty to even out that situation. Since FOX is the NFC network, it doesn’t surprise me that they were so pro-Dallas on the broadcast.

Both teams ended up being penalized six times, but most of Dallas penalties were self inflicted, like false starts. Most of KC penalties were ref inflicted for BS unsportsmanlike conduct or taunting.

Our losses thus far are to all AFC teams. We have beaten every NFC opponent we have faced. Andy knows a thing or two about preparing for NFC teams.

Neither QB had what you would call a stellar day. Dak was worse than Mahomes. He was sacked five times. Threw two costly picks; one at the end of each half. The Dallas offense came in #1 in the NFL, averaging over 30 points per game. They’ve had at least 2 TDs in every game up to today. Today, just three field goals. Dak averaged 7.5 yards per completion. He sucked today, because the Chiefs defense made him suck today. Dallas was 5 for 15 on third down attempts.

Mahomes threw for 260. His one pick bounced off Kelce -a ball he usually pulls in. He also got strip sacked and lost one fumble. Micah Parsons is a beast and beat Wiley and Brown bad a couple times. Diggs didn’t do anything game changing. Chiefs rushed for 126 and 2 TDs. So it was the rushing game that made the difference. Pringle also shined on both offense and special teams.

Specials overall had a winning effort. Bad Buttkicker: missing a PAT and missing a 51 yard field goal. Good Buttkicker: Hitting a 48 yard PAT after penalties, hitting a 53 yard field goal and doing a fourth quarter pooch punt to pin Dallas on the two yard line. Well done. Very well done.

All the game balls to the defense. Honey Badger played with a bad swollen knee. Frank Clark came out strong and was actually effective in the pass rush. Chris Jones with 3.5 sacks, a fumble recovery and a tipped pass that led to the final game sealing pick was game changing. That’s the Chris Jones we’ve been waiting on all year long. Glad he finally showed up and showed everyone who and what he is. Melvin Ingram played more, and makes everybody around him step up their game. Reed is playing better and helping stuff the run.

Linebackers Gay and Bolton both played well. Sorensen and Alfred E. Neimann did not do anything to hurt the team. Our defensive secondary was terrific. Sure, they didn’t have to face Dallas one and two wide outs, but you play against whoever they throw out there. Sneed should be an all-pro selection. Ward is playing better coming back from injury. Fenton played well, and hopefully his knee injury won’t cost him a lot of games. The bye will hopefully help him heal. Spags did a great job bringing the defense back from the dead. Up to this week KC's Defense was giving up over six yard per play. Today they gave up a little over four yards per play to the number one offense in the NFL. Well done and sorely needed.

OK, so the Bills lose. The Faid loses. The Tits lose to the lowly Houston Texans. Ravens barely squeak by Da Bearsss. And at the time of this writing the Bolts are barely winning over Pittsburgh. It will be nice to have a Thanksgiving bye, then come back to work with the bumps and bruises healed and preparing for the final stretch run against the rest of the AFC West.

Big important win today. Style points don’t matter and we never EVER apologize for winning. I hope you all have a safe and tasty Thanksgiving. Mr. Doggity is smoking a giant turkey for me that they gave me at work. So I plan to enjoy watching Thanksgiving Day football and going into a turkey coma. All the best to you and yours from Mrs. B, the Blowfish kitties and yours truly.

Game highlights are here:

Love me some natering nabobs of negativity reference.

I don't disagree with Troy about whether a minor contact to the face of the QB should be a penalty, but neither Troy nor I are the ones making the rules.

That is a flag as under current rules just like grabbing the jersey of a receiver.

And I'll make face mask penalties officially part of the quick review process as soon as they put me on the rules committee.

Anyone catch how Blandino or Perira we’re defending the refs after their missed face mask on Fenton? Saying stuff like “this shouldn’t be overturned” or the “refs can go back and change things”.

I actually agree, you can't call a penalty that you only saw on the replay as long as that is not what you are reviewing.

However, if you rip someone's helmet off their head you should be ejected whether you get a penalty for it or not. THAT is what made me livid. Yanking a guy around by the facemask for long enough that it comes off is a good way to hurt someone. I hope we at least see a fine for Goodwin over that crap!

Defense as a whole had fantastic game.

Gay, Bolton, Jones, Reed, Clark, Sneed, Mathieu, Ward all had fantastic games.

If they can play like this, Chiefs will be SB faves.

Offense needs to up their game though.

I just wish they would make everything reviewable. Have a ref in the booth or New York who’s watching everything. When he sees an obvious error or mistake he signals the field refs.

I still don't get how they missed the facemask/helmet removal as it happened in real time. The refs were standing right there watching it happen. Need some robot refs to avoid these kind of blatant mistakes.

Bro, how much more evidence do people need to understand that the refs are beholden to the NFL, TV, and Vegas before ever attempting to actually be an impartial judge to an actual athletic contest?

It was literally directly in front of the official who was obviously staring directly at it.

I seriously think that the officials had been directed to basically flag Dallas back into the game (otherwise it would've been a blowout in the 1st half), and when it was obvious by the TV camera angle that the ref was directly staring at the call that was obviously blown did the NFL decide to call down from New York and change it.

Funniest part about all this? I remember some years ago some real intellectuals on this very forum making fun of me for suggesting that the officials wore earpieces that received instructions from NY NFL office.

Someone can find it if they want.

It's pretty much common knowledge now...

Day after thoughts: Actually Lamb played the entire first half. I think he was hurt on the last Dallas offensive play of the half. So for Cowboy fans to say "no Cooper and no Lamb" is not correct. Lamb has a whole half to make a difference and didn't.

Was Trey Smith's penalties combined 25 yards or 30 yards? I think it might have been ten yards holding and 15 for unsportsmanlike conduct. I'll have to go back and re-check that.

Looked like Gay rolled over Zeke's ankle taking him out of bounds in the second quarter. He may be banged up for the Turkey Day game. Dallas is going to be in a world of hurt with guys out. All six teams involved in Thanksgiving Day games lost this week. Wow....I doubt if that's ever happened before! Some stinky games coming up with some stinky QBs!

Our secondary got better as soon as they pulled sorenson.

Spags still ran Sorenson and Niemann out there together in the 4th quarter.

In a 10 point victory were crying about the refs who called obvious taunting penalties and Troy Aikman who even said he didnt like that first call on CEH. Its clear Aikman is old school and wants less penalties. JFC some of you guys.

Kind of. Aikman really wanted PI on multiple plays (always in Dallas' favor). The uncatchable ball Dak threw in the endzone and a couple of others. That really did get pretty annoying.

But pummeling Dallas in front of Aikman on his birthday? Worth every gripe, for sure.

Yes, the garbage yards their tight end got inside five minutes left in the game were between TBMWSRN (The Bald Mormon Who Shall Remain Nameless) and Alfred "What? Me Worry?" E. Neimann.

Every time I see highlights on the NFL Network of receivers owning the Chiefs, its always a clip of Neimann or TBMWSRN or BOTH chasing the guy downfield, with Honey Badger grabbing the sides of his head in disbelief.
