Is CEH a JAG?

Is Clyde just another guy?

I’m writing a dissertation on this.

Thanks.

We're not comparing across eras or even across teams here. This is same time, same team, same staff. And Clyde is simply performing at a MUCH higher level than Williams has.

And I think CEH probably is a pretty average RB - which still makes him quite a bit better than the available alternatives. He may be slightly above average or slightly below, but near enough as to make no difference.

He is a solid football player and a guy who would start on several teams throughout the league. Darrel Williams ain't that.
It's Wild Overreaction Planet.

Huge, sweeping HAWT TAKES

Being wrong 75% of the time and then ignore it but that ONE TIME YOU WERE RIGHT SO POUND YOUR CHEST AND CALL EVERYONE A PUSSY OR HOMOPHOBIC SLUR

It's ridiculous.

No, Darrel Williams is not special. He's fine as a depth piece.

Clyde's biggest problems have been 1)availability and 2)not being utilized in the way his college tape would indicate his skills lie.

but he's been fine when he's in there. A little underwhelming perhaps for his draft position, but still not anywhere near a bust.

Williams' biggest play was the TD grab when he MOSS'ed the Raiders DB. That was a great play, and was 38 yards (I believe?) of his 100. I won't do anything asinine like remove it from his total and say something like otherwise his yardage was mediocre because that's twisting stats to fit a narrative. I find all of that cherry picking of statistics irritating.

If we ever start using Clyde in the passing game, he'll get 100 plus all purpose yards every week. And the Overreaction Planet will be posting 40 pages of 'IS CLYDE THE MVP?'

Charles was great in the Alex Smith offense. He would be much less productive in this one. The comparison is largely irrelevant.

It's like Mahomes said after the game. We're still not playing our best football. Clyde is part of what's working, along with Hill having a great season.
Charles would be amazing in any offense. What the hell are you talking about?

Uhhh, no. Jamaal Charles was a special, special talent and would have broken records in this offense. He played most of his career with no NFL QB's on shit teams and WAS the offense.

I don't disagree with anything else in this post.

I'm not a fan of CEH but this isn't fair. JC was a HoF talent and Priest/LJ ran behind possibly the best OL of all-time.

CEH isn't even at a Phillip Lindsay level yet... so yeah, he's a JAG.

Good Lord, I come to this thread early in the morning and you guys have already started with the bullshit.

Jamaal would wreak havoc in this offense. He'd be facing 5-man boxes on 10 of his 15 carries each game. All he'd have to do is make one guy miss and he'd gain 15 yards every time.

Especially 2010 Charles! With that speed? It would be ridiculous. I might even feel bad for opposing defenses.

Like Steven Jackson, except Jackson was the only good player on the entire team.

Charles would not have been that guy in this offense. Not with trigger happy Pat in there. Charles use to get a ton of touches. That's not what we do here. That's not this offense. Yes, Charles was the center piece. Now it's Patrick even if he had Charles. Now, he wouldn't put up better numbers.

Come on, dawg. In Jamaal's most heavily used seasons in 2012 and 2013 he only averaged 20 touches per game. For most of his career the guy was getting like 15-20 touches per game, which is literally no different than CEH right now. The difference is, prime JC averaged almost 6 YPC to Clyde's 4.5.

Swapping CEH for prime Jamaal Charles right now would bring our offense right back to 2018 levels since teams would have to respect our run game. They couldn't stubbornly leave both safeties 20 yards off the ball the entire game.

If you're into advanced stats. Basically DWill is the worst back in the league and gets less than what is blocked for and CEH gets what the line gives him, nothing more nothing less. We also have the 2nd best run blocking line in the league according to advanced stats

How would Charles rip off home runs with safties backed up 15 yards behind the LOS? Defenses didn't Smith's deep ball. He was the horizontal happy. When Charles broke through the line he was gone. Again, it's not the same circumstance and this is irrelevant to compare.

Clyde had a very good game against a DAL D that had a lot of hype. Clyde was instrumental in our two TD drives. When we got away from him we struggled. It's not a coincidence.

So you think those safeties backed up 15 yards off the LOS would be able to stop Charles one on one?

Someone needs to be refreshed on what Charles did to DB's in open space.

I never said he'd rip off home runs and he wouldn't need to. He would consistently churn out 8-20 yarders with the holes Clyde's been seeing, that's for sure.

Imagine an even more dangerous version of Playoff Damien, that's what Jamaal Charles would be like in this offense.
