It was an amazing kick, and I say that without hyperbole. With those winds, I didn't think we should attempt a kick that long. He drilled it.

It seemed like the wind really messed with Butker's kicks to the other goal post. They faded to the right. Seems like his kicks in that direction of the 54 yd FG stayed straight, so I was expecting him to make it.

That's the thing about Butker - he's such a good ball striker.

This isn't a guy like Santos who was fairly precise but still kinda feathered or pushed/hooked the ball through.

Butker is a big guy and he's fit. He !@#$ing legs that ball through. Just absolutely drills it. So even in the wind, he puts such force behind the ball that the wind almost doesn't have time to really impact it.

We've seen guys struggle kicking in conditions the entire post-season. Meanwhile Butker's kicked a frozen rock against Miami, in swirling winds against Buffalo and on a wet field in Baltimore - none of it mattered.

The guy just strikes the ball as well as anyone I've ever seen. While other guys are going out there throwing curveballs to get batters out, Butker's just bringing the hot, stinky cheddar.

Dude busted out the 1 wood from 57 yards. Who DOES that? Who can kick a ball that flat, that far?

What an absolute monster.

When I saw the high snap, and the ensuing low kick, I figured no way, but what a line drive power kick. HOF all the way.

Is there any site that tracks exit velocity on kicks?

That thing took off in a hurry.

The trajectory on that kick reminded me of the Stoyanovich game winner kick vs Denver in 1997. Conditions were tough. Frigid temps, 54 yards. Low and line drivey.

Obviously, the stage and pressure were much greater for Butker and Thompson. Whatta kick.

That kick went through the "goal posts" twice. The kick was so low that it could have been blocked, and nearly was. As the ball crossed over the defensive line it went between the hands of two 49ers. Fortunately, nobody had their hand up in between them.
