The worst athletic program (or second worst) doesn’t hire a hotshot up and coming coach, who then a short two years later recruits a Top 10 National recruiting class. The future is damn bright for the football program. Give the Drink some time to build his own program.

Basketball IS a dumpster fire right now, but that’s mostly due to Cuonzo and his outdated ways.

You wanna see a real dumpster fire athletic program in the SEC right now? Check out what’s going on over at Florida.

It could be a LOT worse.

Football future is bright. Fire Cuonzo and get a young up and comer in basketball coaching ranks and you’ll see that sport start to turnaround too.

Good lord, guys. It was a .500 season with a bowl game despite everything that went wrong this year. And we only lost by a FG to an 8-4 Army team, while having our All American RB and stud defensive player sitting on the sidelines. It could have been a lot worse.

A Top 10 recruiting class is coming to Columbia next year . . . . . chin up.

The future is bright!
I barely watched the game...once I heard that Badie wasn't playing and one of the best defensive guys was sitting out, I lost all interest.

From the small portion I watched Dawson Downing and the other RB (can't remember his name) were pretty much running at will. Can you imagine what the score might have been if Badie was in? How many yards he would probably have run for?

To me, the game last night was nothing more than an early spring scrimmage and a "farewell" bowl to the Seniors who have been with the program these 4 years. They deserve it having had to go thru the Odom years.

And from my perspective....think of the positive vibes that Drink probably got with some of the potential recruits. His stance on not playing Badie because he was concerned about his pro career, more than winning a Bowl game? That tells a recruit that my possible new coach actually might think about more than just winning a football game.

It's easy to ignore the Beaker comments and laugh at them...futile attempts to make themselves feel better at our expense. It helps them not have to face the reality that most High School teams would give them a tough game....maybe even win one.
