Let's talk about the Bengals [and Hamburger Helper]

This one is huge as far as the #1 seed goes.

Let's talk about it.

Pretty much this.

...and I'd love to defend the Chiefs fanbase, but I witnessed our own saying things such as:

-If Mahomes would spend less time doing commercials, he wouldn't suck.
-Mahomes needs benched.
-Mahomes is broken.
-Mahomes should be studying film instead of hanging out with his family.

Chiefs Kingdom has it's fair share of complete shitheads.

I’ve seen a lot of posts about how the Bengals run the ball well. Can someone explain this to me?

Rushing Yards: 1,603 (11th worst in the league)
Yards Per Carry: 4.0 (T 6th worst in the league)
20+ Yard Runs: 8
40+ Yard Runs: 1
Longest Run: 46 Yards
Rushing First Downs: 85 (10th worst in the league)

Mixon is fine, but his stats are nothing all that special either. He’s only been over 4.5 yards per carry 5 times this season. He’s also been held under 4 yards per carry in each of their last 4 games. He’s had 3 really good games running the ball this year (Pittsburgh, Las Vegas, Minnesota). Steelers have allowed the most rushing yards this year, Vikings have allowed the 5th most, and Raiders have allowed the 14th most. They also played the Raiders right after we ruined them, so they likely didn’t even see the best version of the Raiders.

His other performances have been pretty meh.

Sure seems like they have a bottom 3rd rushing offense. I don’t see a stat that says otherwise.

Fair points. I like their team and think they are solid, but to be considered arrogant because of confidence in your team based off of past success rubs me the wrong way. What bothered me was when fans of better teams felt they knew more about football because their team won more. I definitely did not think that about any fanbase.

Sometimes stats don't tell the whole story.

People see Mahomes INT's and think he sucks... when if you watched the game you would know those passes were fine, and they doinked off WR hands.

This is why football analysts on TV are dumbshits. They watch a few highlights, and check the stat sheet... and then form a quick uneducated opinion and blabber it out to the world.

Hence, "The chiefs are done"... "Mahomes is broken", yadda yadda.

I will admit, I haven't watched a single Bengals game this season. There could be reasons that the Eye test say that Mixon is actually better than whatever stats you find.

The Bengals were 23rd in rushing offensive DVOA heading into last week and 20th in passing offensive DVOA. The Bengals are not good.

Reminds me of last year, between Bills fans showing up and Browns fans showing up.

Bills fans came here to troll first and foremost, but even looking at the forum they came from, they were incredibly naive 'born yesterday' type of fans who thought they would be handed a Lombardi because they could put up 50 points on some 5 win team. I'm sure we came off as arrogant assholes, mostly because they stormed into our house and took a giant dump in the living room... but, also because they seriously knew nothing about football.

Browns fans showed up and almost all of them were respectful and wanted to talk football, and also knew one 11-win season didn't mean they were guaranteed playoff success.... they had been around and seen some shit, and we all seemed to be on the same level.

And reading the Bengals board, I'd say they're far closer to the Browns fans who showed up... they're happy to be watching a winning team and excited to see what the Bengals can do this weekend. I didn't get the sense they all of a sudden believe they're going to take the league by storm.

The only sports team anybody gives a shit about in that state is the Buckeyes. And they got pasted by Michigan and haven't won a title since what like 1999 or something?

Cincy is just north Kentucky with diarrhea chili and apparently really impressive high school football!!!

They will learn by the numbers. We will teach them.

I watched them against the Broncos and Chargers.

I know they're better than those outings - and that when they click, they can be really good. I just see someone like Chris Jones potentially being as game-breaking to their high-flying offense as he was to the Cowboys. Dak was going to put up 40 on us, he ended up getting 9.

Basically it seems like their board is hoping Burrow goes into the Avatar State for the whole game to beat us. Unlike a lot of QB's, he does have the talent do it, and Jones could always have an off day, but it puts a whole lot on their young QB and rarely can they do it alone.

Now, COVID could wreck our team and change the situation dramatically. And as Burrow said, because Cincy has no nightlife (Applebee's excluded), the Bengals are pretty safe from COVID.

Except they are Not. Covid is already in their QB room- their backup was put on the list today.

Burrow will be tested as a "Close Contact" --so we will see what happens.

I agree with that part. My issues were primarily with those who felt we were arrogant. That and the "area smack" people (although we have some ourselves that do it). I never understood how people develop a sense of superiority based on where they live. I think it's stupid regardless of fanbase.
