Manager's can float by on auto-pilot and use predictive analytics in baseball because there's 9000 games every year. Shit eventually regresses to the mean. In football there's seventeen games. I think the Chargers coach is somewhat of an idiot.

Also football is a much more emotional game than baseball. If your coach is a cold fish who can't inspire men to go out there and put their bodies on the line, he won't succeed no matter how smart his in-game decisions are.

Well then again there's Belichick. I think he just scares them into performing.
