Let's talk about the Bengals [and Hamburger Helper]

This one is huge as far as the #1 seed goes.

Let's talk about it.

But Burrow just destroyed Wink's blitz-happy scheme. So probably we shouldn't just blitz Joe to blitz him.

Also, I'm not sure how much DEN is blitzing lately, but through the first half of the season DEN blitzed around 20% or tied for 29th in the league.

And according to the folks on two of the most popular Bengals fan forums, Burrow has the most trouble with defenses that can get pressure with just 4-5 DLs.
Denver rarely bllitzes.

And yeah, Baltimore blitzed like mad, but with a secondary full of practice squad guys. Probably not the best idea.

Spags just needs to keep doing what he's been doing and it'll be fine.

Exactly right....there is absolutely no reason to do anything differently than what we've been doing. As somebody mentioned earlier, the Bengals are very Chargers like....

We don't turn the ball over, we win this by at least a TD....

Found a box in my grandma's pantry that expired 35 years ago. She even had some super-aged ground beef in their too. It was kinda like eating a moldy beef ramen brick, but I am gonna shit it all out real soon I bet!!

I realize I am in enemy territory but hopefully you can be tolerant of a fan from an opposing team. I wanted to respond to some things I read in here. I always enjoy reading what fans say about their teams and other teams. I find if you take out the radical fans on both ends of a discussion and kinda use the reasonable post from what seems to be the knowledgeable fans you can get a good feel about a player or a team.

It is also funny how you read the same things about their teams from multiple message boards. For example as a Bengals fan I always read Bengals fans complaining about our medical staff when players have set backs which I find is a bit ridiculous. I read the same thing on other teams message board about their medical staffs. It just makes me laugh.

Anyway just let me say most of the Bengals fans I know really didn’t expect a Bengals win over the Chiefs. The respect for your team is there. I was happy for your team when Mahomes led you to your first Super Bowl win in forever. As a suffering bengals fans for over 40 years I can only imagine how good that felt. I would like to respond to a few things I read after this. It is just one Bengals fans opinion which really doesn’t amount to a hill of beans. If the Bengals can actually do something they haven’t done in over 30 years and win a playoff game there is a good chance Cincy will be coming to KC after that. That is the one that will matter. I don’t think many of us will expect the Bengals to come out of there with a W.

I also don’t think it has to be about who is better Mahomes or Burrow. Why can’t we just agree they are both good QB’s with Mahomes having proved more up to this point. He was the NFL darling when he burst onto the scene for good reason. It’s fun watching that kid play the game. In my opinion the Chiefs are still the team to beat in the AFC.

Especially since last year they ran a little of a training wheels offense.

Denver kept burrow in check. I don’t know their game plan but I’d have to think they blitzed a lot. Also worth noting that we’d had tremendous success blitzing where other defenses are playing safe. Which means spags has bucked the trend and succeeded where other defenses have not.

We gotta be cautious of burrow is a blitz killer. Or else we consider a scheme like vs Dak who is also a blitz killer. But feel like we can’t be scared to blitz either.

I said in my initial post that most Bengals fans didn’t think the Bengals would beat the Chiefs. However for me I felt good about the matchup of Burrow vs the Chiefs defense even though your defense had been playing really good. I thought we had a punchers chance. My reasoning was the aggressive nature in which the Chiefs play. The press coverage I thought would work to the Bengals advantage and it did. The Bengals Oline is not good and you could get pressure with just your front 4. They are a very average run blocking team also. Just look at the Bengals short yardage win rate and you can see that. As mentioned above Burrow is very good against the Blitz even with a subpar Oline and yes his receivers abilities are part of that. I am still scratching my head on about that 3rd & 27 play.

Opposing fans are fine. In fact, we've had a lot of them show up over the years and they decide they like it here and never ****ing leave. One of the worst is this Jets fan that goes by 2112, that guy has actually showed up at my damn house a few times.

OTOH, walls of text like that one you just posted are not fine. One more of those and I'll have to report you to a moderator.

And that team runs really hot and cold at times.
As a Bengals fan I agree with this. Most Bengals fans are ok with Zac Taylor as the head coach but would like him to give up the play calling duties. He really has no proven track record to suggest he is a nfl caliber OC and IMO he has showed that. I just hope Burrow can bail him out lol

Actually us Bengals fans are well aware of our Olines issues. We are very worried they are gonna get Burrow maimed. For serious Bengals fans it’s issue #1. That is why the Chase/Sewell debate last year swayed in favor of Sewell for most Bengals fans.

Really that is what you get out of the forums? It seems to me we complain a lot about our Oline lol pass blocking as a whole is bad and the run blocking isn’t much better,
