I'm here too. I would not have said this about the NBA in the 80s and 90s. But I think you paint the NFL as I see it perfectly.

What I wish, is the NFL would put out something admitting the egregiousness of the officiating from Sundays game. Just admit it, apologize and we can move on (ish).
