I get it, and you are not totally incorrect but, there definitely some who went over board with it, even to the point of saying that Patrick got paid and was mailing it in now.

Unfortunately, yet typical of CP, the more level headed “cautionary tales” get lumped in with the extremists.

Yeah, I'd agree with this. Baby Lee is a good dude, even if I will needle him from time to time about his assessments on things.

But his posts were way different than the "Patrick has mailed it in since getting 500m" or "Patrick has mailed it in since becoming a Dad" or "Is Patrick an NFL QB?" that became all too common around here (and will likely surface again).

There is a difference between pointing out issues and “the world is ending” takes. BL definitely falls into the former category. But CP is gonna CP.

Appreciate the vouch, but also should add for posterity and for all to see and know. When you say way different, it's as in I never had serious criticism of Mahomes, even when he was having troubles. My beef has always been that everything around him, except Kelce and Tyreek, has depended utterly on him to drag them out of mediocrity.

I said before the season started that we're an 8-10 win team with a cheat code at QB. That dynamic never really shifted decisively all year. Even today, put even Burrow on this team all year and we don't even make it this far.

Yep. Not really all that cool now. I'd also like to get a re-ranking from the folks who called last week's game the best in Chiefs/NFL history. I wonder how many would bump it down a few pegs since ultimately, it will settle in the archives of history along side the Frank Reich comeback game. A cool footnote, but ultimately meant nothing major for either team.

Likely to be the story of next season [after Burrow is put in traction by the Rams], who will be more demoralized or more inspired by the end of this season, Allen or Mahomes?

We're still going to be the last AFC team to win a ring going into next season.

We spend our offseason preparing to beat the Bengals and we will be right back there.

Let's see how Joe does with all the pressure in the world on him as the conference favorite.

Yeah, I think it could have been part of the 2nd half letdown. Score on that drive to end the 1st half and they are cruising. Instead, no points then 3 and out and they're in a fight with a team with nothing to lose and all the pressure on the Chiefs not to blow it at home.

Seemed like they were just hanging on and lacking energy and confidence second half.

The Bills spent their offseason preparing to beat the Chiefs and we saw how that worked out for them.

A small minded singular focus like that only carries you so far.
