The only thing worthwhile in this lawsuit is the Ross tampering allegations. The entire racism angle may get this lawsuit tossed because it's garbage with absolutely no proof, just shock-jock talking points. In fact, it may get him counter sued.

Regardless, Flores' career as a coach is done. He'll never get hired because he can't be trusted.

Lol, what? They’re going to toss an explosive lawsuit about throwing games and tampering because they don’t like the side accusations on race? Can’t imagine he makes that accusation and ruins his entire career if he doesn’t have receipts. I agree that the racism angle doesn’t seem like much in its own but it’s a tiny part of what makes this whole thing explosive.

How do you think they heard about it in the first place? It’s not like it happened recently. It’s very old, and most Chiefs fans weren’t even aware of it until he became a HCing candidate.

Those opposing fans heard about it because it gets brought up every offseason as a potential reason why he hasn’t been hired.

It's the headline accusation of the entire lawsuit. He has provided no evidence for any of his allegations. Pictures of owners, texts that prove nothing beyond the Giants had their mind made up prior to the interview etc prove nothing. Unless he has audio or emails/texts from Ross about the throwing games or meeting Brady before he was free, then it may get dismissed.

It's also possible this brings an end to the Rooney Rule as it likely violates the Civil Rights act of 1964 as it's currently practiced.

You've never interviewed people for a job or position, have you? It's probably not the best practice but it's common for people to have their minds made up before the interviews or after a few interviews on who they are going to hire. This is in general and the NFL I'm sure is more common than not.

Do you think the Chiefs were giving real interviews to other candidates in 2013? Hunt had his eyes on Reid so does that make him racist? I don't remember who they interviewed but I know they "satisfied" the Rooney Rule requirement before he was named the HC.

The Rooney Rule is unlikely to violate Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 because it does not involve a quota. Affirmative action efforts to promote diversity (a good thing, IMO) have been held to be legally acceptable so long as they don't involve rigid quotas.

A requirement to interview does not lead to a requirement to hire a minority. Yes, some of these interviews are token interviews, but some of them are not and minority coaches have gotten hired. Even if someone is brought in to fulfill requirements for the Rooney Rule, an interviewee can still impress enough to be considered more seriously when there is another opening in that organization.
