I don't know how to make this any more clear - I'm not a lawyer, I don't know what goes into PROVING racism - and I'm not going to try. Nor am I going to accuse the league without all of the information that Flores and his legal team have, along with others who join the class action, witnesses, etc.

Like The Franchise said earlier, you're so hellbent on proof, can it be proven, etc. This could go to court and the jury agree with the league - that still doesn't mean there aren't issues with the hiring process. Christ, the LEAGUE admitted there was an issue when they created the Rooney Rule and these other incentives for keeping/grooming black coaches and management candidates.

Flores is making the claim that the NFL's hiring practices are racial driven. Not me. I'm simply posting the data since most of you are unwilling to even read it. Some of it is pretty compelling, but will be ignored (and is being ignored) simply because it doesn't align with a particular worldview.

I'm not sure why this is such a "take a side" issue with you - what's wrong with discussing that there's obviously an issue with the league's hiring practices, even if it does fall short of the definition of racism?

The interesting question is why do some sports (baseball and hockey) favor coaches who played professionally, while the NBA and NFL do not?

Why does the NFL prefer coaches who played in college and then took a bottom of the rung position on coaching staff immediately upon graduation, as opposed to someone who played professionally for a few years before seeking a coaching position?

I'd say that the trend toward younger coaches has people like McVay becoming a HC while still at a "player's age".

It used to be tht guys like Schottenheimer, Ditka, and Dan Reeves were more the norm, but the NFL has phased that out in favor of younger, hipper "players coaches".

Now Ross is being accused of tampering.

He tried to set up a meeting at a yacht with Brady and Flores.

Holy shit, that dude just lost his franchise.

This lawsuit wasn't meant to be settled in a court of law. From everything I've read it'll be damn near impossible to actually accomplish anything there. Everything about it, from the timing and wording in the suit, suggests Flores wanted the NFL to be tried in the court of public opinion.

I don’t think anyone is suggesting here that these decisions are badly intentioned. Or that these coAches are fired because of race. Again I don’t think Flores’ race specific accusations hold up well on their own. But there is a reason likely not related to talent why only 1/32 coaches are black. Again, it isn’t racism driving it but it sure seems like a lot of black coaches on the lower level don’t seem to move through the pipeline as often or fast as they should. It’s hard to look at that number and not see a problem whatever that may be.

If it’s not racism driving it, there’s no issue.

If it weren’t for EB, you wouldn’t even have anybody to point to and say they’ve been treated unfairly.

Is this a serious question? How many Asians and Hispanics play football and are gunning for these positions? To your hockey question, hockey is a sport with less diversity because equipment is very expensive. Given that the majority of hockey players are white, I don’t find it surprising or shocking that most coaches are white.

The reason this gets brought up for one race is because 70% of players are black. You’d expect a significant pool of future coaches who have high football iq and leadership skills. Plus the unique experience of playing in big games.

Reality not meeting your expectation does not mean that there’s a serious issue at hand.

The reality is that most coaches aren’t former NFL players. There’s very little correlation. Why is that so difficult for you to grasp?

Come back to reality and we can actually get somewhere.
