Joe Cullen to be named DL coach?

Only tweet I've seen on this they haven't let go of Brendan Daly yet.

@GeneFrenette: Look for former #Jaguars defensive coordinator Joe Cullen to be named @Chiefs defensive line coach later today, per NFL source.

Cullen is a good coach. That would be a solid hire, especially as D-Line coach.

Daly’s message has seemed to grow stale as our best talents on the D-Line (Clark and Jones) seem to be unmotivated a lot of the time. I know you can’t pin that all on the coach and the players share responsibility in that, but results are results.

Have Clark and Reed got better since they came here from Seattle? How much has Jones improved under Daly? What about the development of some of our lesser heralded, talented D-Line guys?

When he came here, he was advertised as some super motivator that was gonna turn our D-Line into something that mimicked the success of the Pats D-Line. Not saying there weren’t any improvements, but clearly that hasn’t happened.

Maybe Cullen won’t be able to do any better(?), buts it’s time for a new approach.

Time to move on from Daly as far as I’m concerned.

Yeah, change is definitely needed on the DL. Coaching staff included.

Maybe it will be. I don’t know. I’ve never heard of the guy. It should be noted though that we were saying the same thing about Brendan Daly when he was hired. I’ll believe it when I see it.

Yes. Now cut bait with under-producers and get more talent for what it would cost to pay the under-producers.

I’m all for this.

Go look at what that defense did against Josh Allen and then the Colts.

Seems it would be a good move, along with some new players that stay focused AND motivated.

Was reading his Wikipedia and saw this lol

Quote:
Cullen was fired shortly after his hire at the University of Mississippi after being charged with drunk and disorderly conduct after passing out in a local Subway.

Cullen was arrested in 2006 for driving under the influence as the defensive line coach of the Detroit Lions. In another incident, also during the 2006 pre-season, he was arrested after he drove through a Wendy's drive-thru naked. He was fined $20,000 and suspended for one game by the NFL for "conduct detrimental to the league" and sentenced by a judge to 10 days of community service and to attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.

Not saying we should bring him back, but Britt Reid wasn’t such a bad DL coach. Managed to squeeze a lot of production out of JAGs like Rakeem Nunez Roches and Kendall Reyes

Holy shit. This would be a fanatic hire. I’m not getting my hopes up though because this dude doesn’t even have a blue check mark.
