****Official Rams vs Bengals Super Bowl game thread****

Chiefs should have been in the Superbowl but oh well! I am rooting for the Bengals since Bengals have been a terrible franchise for so long, it would nice to see Bengals finally win it all

Except he wasn't the main driving force in the playoffs. His defense was. That is the source of contention. If the Bengals offense was putting up 30+ a game in the playoffs then he deserved the kudos.

He scored 26 against a crummy Raiders defense (one TD shouldn't have been allowed but the refs messed up) and his defense saved the day with an interception. Also was helped when the Raiders drive to tie earlier in the game was sabotaged by three holding calls on the drive. Ball on the 1 got wiped out.

Scored 19 against the Titans. Got the GW FG drive thanks to an interception at midfield.

Scored 27 against KC. Was about to be blown out until Mahomes threw it in-bounds. In the second half, his defense held KC to 3 points. Set him up with an Interception inside the KC 20. And got the key interception in overtime.

Scored 20 points against LA. 7 points on a TD pass that should have been called back for OPI. And promptly did nothing when the LA offense was shut down.

Hardly the stuff of legend. He was the prime example of how good defense helps win playoff games. The sack stuff got overblown too. Before the Super Bowl, he was only sacked 3 times in the two other playoff games. The Titans game was physically impressive but his defense kept the Titans in check.

6 of Cincy’s points against Tennessee were directly from the Cincy defense forcing turnovers deep in Tennessee territory. 2 field goals on 2 turnovers. Also a Burrow INT directly setup 7 points for Tennessee. The Cincy defense was great in that game. Burrow himself was pretty far from great with a 28/100 QBR.

Tonight he graded at 40/100 and that includes a fluke 75 yard TD that should have been a penalty on the receiver, along with a freak show catch by Chase. QBR might have been closer to 20/100 without those 2 plays.

It's pathetic how members of this board are bashing Burrows. The guy completed his first full season, guided them to the SB, during that process made crucial plays/throws. Burrows will be a force during the next years and only get better. I see him as close main rival for Mahomes.

More about bashing the media double standards that exist. Burrow was 45/100 QBR in 4 playoff games and carried by his defense. Jimmy G was above 50/100 QBR in 3 playoff games and carried by his defense. One of these guys is portrayed in the media as carrying the team, while the other guy is portrayed as riding the coattails of a good defense.

How about we give the Cincy defense some credit? They did a hell of a job in this playoff run.

No one is taking something awy for Bengal's defence.

Who would you rather have, Jimmy or Joey as your QB ?

Joe because of his age/cheap contract and 4 young weapons around him. None of that changes the fact Joe was carried by the defense in this playoff run. It’s an inconvenient fact that doesn’t match the media narrative of him carrying the team. If he pulled a 94/100 QBR like Josh Allen, maybe the narrative would be justified. 45/100 QBR?? Nope.

But I am sure Burrow will perform better in future playoffs. It’s a great learning experience for him. Bengals will give him a better OL and they have a chance to be a better team next season.

You can’t even type his name correctly as you breathlessly slobber over a choking fraud who couldn’t convert a 4th and 1 with the game on the line.

The whole discussion is pointless. No QB in the world can win a game by his own. Mahomes depends also on Kelce, Hill and others. The crucial part is, whether the QB is able to make the plays in crucial moments of the game, does not turn the ball over. I have rather a QB who has a QBR of 30-50, but when it matters, I can count on him.

Burrow didnt lose the game. Taylor's play calling in the third quarter was a disaster. After the touchdown in the 3rd quarter, the Rams were on the ropes, Bengals should have capitalized on that, at least making 1-2 fields goals (three points). This would have been enough.
