Have you ever went to Jail?

I read in a thread that Brock a CP member went to jail for check fraud.

So does anyone else have a story?

So who here has been in jail and for what?

Let’s see what time CP has spent in the slammer.

I think the percentage of men over 18 who have been arrested in the US would shock many.

Worked for a raging ****wad with little man syndrome for a couple years working at Wal mart in my early 20's. Every chance this dude got to get over on someone because they had bills to pay, he took. In 2000 they did layoffs. After the layoff was over and I returned to overnights, the first night back, ****wad wasted no time getting in my face about how sick he was of my department not getting done.

I explained to the mental midget, that I'd been laid off for 6 weeks, moron, so any gripe you have in that dept is not with me. Then proceeded to go on to my break.

Little bastard sticks his hand in my chest and says STOP. You go, when I say you go. Or I'll send your ass back home.

I very calmly grabbed his hand wrapping my hand around his four fingers, crushing them all together on about a 7/10 effort scale, and began bending them backward, and removed his hand from my body.

I explained that if he put his hands on me again, for any reason, he would find himself asleep under the softlines displays, and he would awaken in desperate need of dental work.

I then took my leave for the rest of the night, at which point ****wad was refusing to open the front doors to let me leave. This caused a massive scene.

While two other employees went to get Andy and Steve, two other managers, to let me out, I made my way to sporting goods and selected an aluminum baseball bat.

I met ****wad up front and bluntly explained that he had 3 seconds to unlock the doors and let me out, or I would let myself out.

He hastily opens the doors. I take 2 days off, and I turn in a 2 week notice. I find out during a meeting with management that police were looking for me the previous 2 days, due to threats against ****wads life being allegedly made by me.

I never threatened his life. Outrageous claims were made about burning his house down, cutting his brake lines, poisoning his food etc.. none of which I did.

I record this meeting I have with all the staff, ****wad included. I finish my notice without incident.

A month later, I go in to purchase Twisted Metal Black, and ****wad is by the front doors. I flip him the bird and make my way to electronics. I buy my game and by the time I reach the front, ****wad is there with cops, pointing at me.

I'm taken to jail for felony terroristic threatening.

In the end, the recording I had of the meeting got me out of it. I wanted to take the case to trial, but lawyer said that so soon after 9/11, bias was going to come into any charge with "terroristic" in its wording. So I ended up having to go no contest, and stay away from WM and ****wad for 6 months for the incident to be expunged. I was furious.

A funny aftermath was that ****wad was dicking one of the married girls who worked there. The husband found out, and came to the store, threw ****wad up onto the carts in the cart corral, and in front of about 100 people, told ****wad that if he caught him out anywhere, he was going to kill him.

Nothing happened to the husband.

So you get a guy that in front of 100 witnesses threatens his life, nothing happens, but hearsay leads to me getting arrested.

Karma caught up with ****wad, as he was such a miserable bastard he was forced to move to automotive to work. In a display of his amazing intelligence he backed up too close to the edge of the lift pit and fell in backward, destroying his back.

Spent a weekend in a small town jail. We were country cruising in my buddies mom's minivan smoking weed. I fell asleep in the passenger seat and woke up to a police officer knocking on my window. Idiot friend pulled off a highway to take a piss and a cop rolled up.

Couple humorous notes looking back:

I was on crutches from knee surgery

Idiot friend who was high af was belly laughing the whole time and talking all this shit while we were getting booked in. Jokingly saying out loud that "you'll never find the sheet of acid in the van" and all this other nonsense.

After we posted bond that Monday morning, they pulled his mom's minivan around with his mom standing right there and the only thing bolted down was the drivers seat. Everything else had been ransacked by the cops searching for a non-existent sheet of acid and it was piled up in the back. Seats, carpet, spare tire, everything.

I was stupid as a young person as many of us are. I got caught syphoning gas a couple blocks from my parents house. I knew I was in trouble when the cop stepped out of his car and said good evening, using my name. Spent 2 days in county for that. I knew 2 of the others in the cell and played Pinochle for 2 days.

That was around 1980. Recently, for the very first time in my life, I received a jury summons. In the online questionnaire was the question of whether I had even been convicted of theft. I answered honestly even though it has been 40+ years. Due to that, I was rejected from serving. I was a bit disappointed as I have always kind of wondered what the experience was like. It is still amazing that the first jury summons came when I was 61!

Honestly, man, Idk. Back in those days I used to get complimented pretty frequently. Total strangers would say "Oh, you're so handsome" "You have such a nice smile" blah blah. These days I don't hear compliments nearly as often.

I may have gotten uglier, but I hope not! Back in those days I probably weighed 145 pounds, had no facial hair. I've always looked younger than my years so maybe that played a role.

I was also in college and working restaurant jobs so I was coming in contact with more people.

I'll take compliments any way I can get them!

Me "winning" that contest actually spawned another convo at a different restaurant job I held. I mentioned it to my coworkers and one of the girls said I was "cute" so it made sense. Our manager was an older guy and he was like "Telling a man he's cute is not a compliment!" He was basically saying if a woman thought he was cute, he'd rather her just not say it to him lol

I get where he's coming from. Calling a man cute or pretty is sort of effeminate. I just disagree.

I have a questions about jail/prison

Are they really as dangerous as popular film/culture would have you believe?

Do you have to join a gang for protection? (Not jail, but prison)

How is the food?

I'm guessing it depends on the prison. I know the state pen here is pretty rough, according to a buddy that works as a guard. But it's not life or death 24/7 so it's probably not as bad as the movies.
