Hard pass. There are better options for roughly the same money.

A WR needy team will probably overpay Cooper in the first couple of days. It'll be interesting to see if he just takes the highest contract he can get out there or if he takes less to go to a team with an established QB.

He realistically has 1 more year to do the 1 year deal thing. Going into the market at 28 can still get you a big payday but by 29 you're gonna struggle a bit.

But that 1 more year needs to be huge and if I'm him, I'm not coming to KC as the #3 pass catching option for that 'make good' year. I'm going somewhere like SD at worst to replace Evans (where Allen's likely to get hurt as well). Hell, maybe even Jacksonville where he can just hog targets.

If I'm taking a 1 year deal it's not to be second fiddle because his earning power could really tank.

I'd probably take the most money I can get over the first 3 years if I'm Cooper. The risk likely isn't worth the reward.

Cooper has made $76 million in 7 years. He’s still only 27 so he may want one last big contract. I would if I were him

You would think, at least in my mind, that after making $76 million....that he would want a shot at a championship. $76 million isn't a tiny amount of money. I guess adding another $60-70 million is great but I would rather have a shot at rings at this point.

No thanks. It would be like having Watkins again with the only difference being Cooper is healthy when he is unproductive.

I don't really get the 'bum' talk.

You can pretty much write him down for 15 games and 1,000 yards. He has that one season in Oakland where he just vapor locked and dropped everything thrown his way. Then last year they were really trying to spread the ball around with Cooper, Lamb, Schultz and Gallup/Wilson in the Y getting over 100 targets. Pollard/Elliott got 100 targets as well.

I mean would any of us really turn up our noses at a 70% catch rate and 70 receptions for 900 yards out of our #2 receiver? What the hell are you looking for if not THAT guy?

Cooper would be very nice fit here. He's a great route runner, gets strong separation, is willing to be physical and can run after the catch. He's not Lou Gehrig out there but he IS usually healthy.

He checks a TON of boxes. I think too many Chiefs fans are just conditioned to shit on anything Raider (and Cowboy, for that matter) so they're not giving him his due credit.

My thoughts exactly- he is a better version of what Sammy Watkins brought to this team.

Much better when you factor in health and mental toughness. He is by all accounts a great locker room guy to.

Veach has shown that he's willing to spend on talent around Mahomes. Shit he went and spent $48 million on Watkins and shocked everyone. He could easily do that again this year.

That's just too rich for a #2 wideout. Anything north of $13 is probably further than I'm willing to go to address that position. Again, we have a half BILLION dollar quarterback. He shouldn't need $60 million plowed into his top 3 targets to be successful. And he doesn't.

It's an unnecessary luxury splurge and something I would've hoped we have already learned some lessons from.
