The thing is, the AFC is loaded and only reaching the SB will in anyway make up for this trade. If the Browns fail constantly over the next years, and winning couple playoff games won’t cut it, this will be seen as a failure, especially given the surroundings of Watson.

Not really IMO. Because they'll have a shot every year now. Before they wouldn't have.
