We didn't lose to the Bengals because of the defence, but because the offence sh*t the bed.

Obviously the argument could then be that the offence was also due an overhaul and to become less reliant on Reek - maybe that's fair. But I think a lot of people saw the preferable outcome as bringing in someone in the draft to complement him, rather than go WR by committee.

It could all work out great but it's undoubtedly a gamble for this year and the people convincing themselves they're ecstatic about Hill going are full of it.
As I recall, Tyreek was a part of that second half offense and the aforementioned 'bed-shitting'. His presence alone didn't change the outcome. Hell, he looked like he was pouting half the time.

I don't think anyone on here is 'ecstatic' about Hill leaving, not sure where you're getting that from?

But people that are acting like the sky is falling need to chill the **** out. Reek and his agent made a 'business decision' and forced our hand. It is what it is. We're worse right now, but this will be a better move for the Chiefs in the long term. Tyreek can only band-aid a few issues on this team. The trading of him (and the money, cap space and draft capital gained) has the potential to fix a LOT more issues on this team.

Now the Chiefs front office just needs to get shit done and Veach and his scouts need to have another great draft. It can be done. But it's up to them.

The only loss being that crapfest against Indy in 2019 on a Sunday night where the whole WR core was injured, half that O-Line was out and his dumbass tackle (Erving, I believe) stepped on his ankle during the game injuring him.

That was the ONLY loss for Pat without Reek. Other than that, 4 wins in 4 games for the other for with the Chiefs offense averaging 30 points a game and Pat averaging 300 yards passing a game. 3 on the road, one against Baltimore at home during their best season (Lamar’s MVP year).

The offense WILL be fine without Reek because Pat IS that guy.

Besides maybe one playmaking WR in the draft, the Chiefs need to spend these newfound riches (money and draft capital) on DEFENSE, DEFENSE and more DEFENSE.

Offense will be fine. Andy Reid is the coach. Pat Mahomes is the QB. People need to quit freaking out.
I think they'll be fine as well but I am curious about how many of those wins without tyreek also included no Sammy watkins? Cause right now our receiver core kinda resembles the one in the indy loss. We'll see how Veach rounds out the group.

I’m not crazy about mvs but I get it. Before we loading up for a super bowl window the way we built our team was through the draft. We did an outstanding job of finding value guys whose main job was to play at a decent level until we could draft a long term replacement. It’s why we signed guys like Austin Blythe. At OL last year we went from depth guys to bringing in some average veterans while also bringing in lots of young OL who they wanted to compete for a starting job. They could easily afford Pringle and DRob. Those guys are no longer here because they want every WR on the roster to legit compete for a WR1 or WR2 position. Point being, the chiefs aren’t done at WR and don’t be surprised if guys like MVS aren’t even starting by next year.

We have been shit at contested catches, and that's a bigger part of todays game. It happened occasionally with Kelce and to a lesser extent Hill and that is a product of having JAG options everywhere else. I wasn't to disappointed when the Hill news came down, but I'm actually excited now to see the evolution to 4-5 truly decent receivers to scheme around.

This guy ain't Tyreek, ain't expected to BE Tyreek, and isn't being paid anywhere near Tyreek.

If we put a stable of quality NFL receivers together, this offense will hum right along, because three or four GOOD players are better than ONE great player, and for the last two years we've had Tyreek, then a big drop-off to a decent Hardman, and then scrubs.

Juju, MVS, Hardman, plus most likely a high pick will be collectively better than we've had at the position since we won the SB.

Not paying Tyreek the most in the NFL was the only responsible move Veach had, and he got a haul in return. There really was NO responsible alternative, so quit your cryin'.

It's going to be fine.

If this is a Robinson/Pringle replacement then I am fine with it as a 3rd/4th WR. We don’t have a #1 WR or even a WR with that potential on the roster. I’m fine with addressing that in the draft or via trade but as long as they aren’t done then this is fine.

JuJu hasn't been good for a couple years, but he's had health issues and been playing with a declining Rapeistburger. If, pretty big if, JuJu is healthy, he's a great fit for what KC will be doing on offense.

Y'all are just kidding yourselves on having a more complete group of WRs. MVS is basically a worse version of Hardman who you are paying a hell of a lot more for.

This gets rescued when KC drafts a stud WR, at which point it will be fine.

Since you asked, two of them. The other two games Sammy put up 3 catches for 54 yards (against Detroit) and 5 catches for 64 yards (against Baltimore).

I think a WR room with MVS, JuJu, Hardman and whatever other guy they add in FA or through trade and an additional playmaker via the draft (as well as Kelce, of course) is MUCH stronger than the group that took the field against Indy that night.

Like you said, we just gotta give Veach and his guys some time to do their thing. They now have the means (cap space, draft capital) to do it.

MVS is a “worse version” of Hardman?

The only comparison is their speed. There’s really no comparison outside of that. They don’t even play the same role.

Also, JuJu just had almost 900 yards and 9 TDs just two seasons ago, so how the **** has he not been good the last 2 years?

We didn’t need “rescued”. We don’t have a guy like Derek Carr at QB that is only as good as the weapons around him allow him to be.

Again, it couldn’t be more obvious that you have no clue on football related topics.

You sure are feeling cocky this offseason though, like all AFCW rival fans on CP, and it’s amusing.

But man, since Reek leaving was all about $$$, KC sure paid $$$ for MVS to be a 3rd or 4th option.
