VARSITY
*****2022 NFL DRAFT THREAD - NO SPOILERS*****

Version 2022 - THE MAHOMES ERA, PHASE TWO

Let's ****ing do this.

Rules for once the draft begins:
  1. No spoiled picks in this thread, all weekend. This means that as tweets are leaking picks a few minutes before the selection is announced live, you don't post it in this thread (ex: embedded tweets), reference it in this thread (ex: Joe Slapdick says it's So and So to Green Bay) or hint at it (ex: "it's a RB!").
  2. Don't be a dick.
Otherwise, have fun, talk shit, freak out and lose your goddamned minds. It's Draft Weekend. The hot takes in these threads are so funny. I'll also be starting player threads for each of our picks as they are made, with videos and notable stats/takes in the OP. I will link those threads below. Pure knee jerk gold to reference in the future.

Here are our picks:
Round 1, #21 - Trent McDuffie
Round 1, #30 - George Karlaftis
Round 2, #54 - Skyy Moore
Round 2, #62 - Bryan Cook
Round 3, #103: - Leo Chenal
Round 4, #135: - Joshua Williams
Round 5, #145: - Darian Kinnard
Round 7, #243: - Jaylen Watson
Round 7, #251: - Isaih Pacheco
Round 7, #259: - Nazeeh Johnson

Here is a list of the prospects the Chiefs have shown interest in this year.

We'll see 3 QBs off the board by pick 38, IMO.
You’ve got at least two QBs, one RB, a couple of WRs, another LB and a couple of S that should come off before 50. And that’s not including a guy like McBride.

Yea and there could just as easily be 3 QBs. 2 RBs or 2 LBs.

I like how we all expected Veach to get at least one SEC guy last night and the guy gets a Pac-12 and Big 10

What I am slightly surprised from last night is that nobody took a chance with Willis at the end of R1. One would think that 5th year option would have been very beneficial for some teams that has QB's that are middling to poor.

Just thought it was an interesting take-away.

Chiefs had an opportunity to move back from 30 and didn't do it. I'm sure teams weren't blowing anyone away with an offer....so why move back?

Oh I understand that, but outside of KC, any team from 27 to 32 could have moved back and get more draft capital if they wanted to.

Heck, I thought maybe Minnesota would have done it here at 32.

Funny how Samuel, tweets that reporters are posting crazy stuff, dude does not even realize that his representatives are the sources of all the reporters unnamed sources of what Samuel is supposedly saying.

If you believe that, as the chiefs, trade next year's draft capital to get in this mix if you are interested, so you can capture the value that falls as a result, imo

Landry, Julio Jones or trading for the Jags WR is the better option to add WR depth at this point.

They won’t all be gone by 50. I can promise you that. Just not enough picks for all those WRs to be gone.

Trade up from 62 with a 2023 3rd rounder and move up for Metchie or Tolbert.
