The likelihood of Josh Allen getting season ended has to be about 4x as likely as Mahomes. Allen puts himself into harms way alot. You don't give up on HFA this early. FFS!

I'm not giving up on the possibility of anything; I just look at the schedules and know the odds.

HFA doesn't matter for this team anyway. Mahomes can beat any team at any time anywhere. Get in and win is the strategy and is going to be for the next decade.

HFA may not matter but ignoring the advantage of a bye is ridiculous.

How do you know that? It's one fewer game the Chiefs would have to play that allows certain players to get healthy. We may not always get a team like the Steelers last year that were "better than a bye" according to the Nick Wrights of the world.

If we didn't get that bye in 2019, the odds of our winning a SB decline dramatically.

Can we do it? Of course.

Does it still matter a lot in probabilistic terms? Absolutely.

The bye is what matters, which is why I still hate this new playoff format for us.

We won’t always get the 1 seed because someone like the Bills will have a garbage division.

The risk of injury is our biggest roadblock with Mahomes.

When we have the bye, it’ll pretty much be a ticket to the AFCCG at home. Reid/Mahomes aren’t losing to a 4 seed with an extra week to prepare and at home.

The new format undeniably hurt us more than any other franchise in the league. Will make it far more difficult for any team to come anything close to a Patriots-like dynasty.

And yes, the risk of injury to Mahomes is the main thing I'm worried about in most of these games. And in a game like tonight, I was getting worried about that.

It was my thinking after 0 games with these schedules so I'm not sure why 2 wins that I expected to get would have changed that.
