Mahomes has been sacked once in 2 games. 2 games where both teams blitzed quite a bit. All of this talk about the offensive line and Zeus in particular being trash is just bullshit.

There is no way we watched the same game last night if you aren’t concerned about the OL. Mahomes had no time most of the game.

The Chargers have arguably the best pass rush in the NFL. It's literally impossible to field a team where you're better in every position group than your counterparts on every other contending team.

So sure, I'm concerned in the sense that it's likely the Chargers' pass rush will give us problems. But I bet the Chargers fan is worried about their OL more than we are about ours. Herbert got his ass kicked last night.

This.

Our dl has gotten after the qb in a big way in two games now, against guys that can move. We haven't seen the Chiefs beat the shit out of a qb like that since the 90s.

Matt Ryan's corpse has to be squirting embalming fluid down both legs after seeing this.

Remember the game at Denver during our Super Bowl year? I think sacked Flacco like 9 times.

That’s what we need to do to Matt Ryan next week.

Yeah the game where we thought we lost 15 for the season for a couple agonizing minutes.

D took that shit personal.

I definitely used to be the type to freak out on gameday. I've really mellowed out after that Super Bowl run, though. I still get nervous and annoyed, but after watching your team come back from being down 10+ in three straight playoff games to win the Super Bowl, you realize it's really not worth it to ride those waves so low when they crash.

I'm kind of a guru, too, honestly. I make some good calls during the game. See if you can match the post to the moment lol

If an average pass rush did what the Chargers did, then I’d be in the same boat as you on this one. Then, we would say “shit, imagine what Bosa and Mack will do”.

The Chargers pass rush (possibly the best in football) was disruptive all night, but didn’t wreck the game for us. They didn’t put the beating on Mahomes that we put on Herbert.

It wasn’t great by any stretch, but I don’t think any line is completely shutting those guys out.

Besides, even with the pressure they only managed 1 sack, which was just due to Trey Smith blocking nobody and Wylie left on an island against 2. Credit to Reid and Mahomes negating the pressure and finding a way to still move the ball a bit.

We watched the same game, but I think we watched it in a different way. The Chargers have two All-Pro level pass rushers and they were bringing Derwin James and that douche New England Patriot castoff on blitzes quite often. I expected some pressure on Mahomes during this game. If you watched individual matchups, OBJ wasn't getting beaten every play. Trey Smith didn't have a great game, but I expect that to turn around (Thursday night game after suffering an injury the week before) and Wylie was struggling with Bosa and Mack.

This offensive line is fine and in reality is one of the best in the league. There are going to be games where Pat has pressure. The big difference between last night and the Arizona game is the Chargers have a good complimentary defense. They have good CBs that can cover long enough to allow the defensive pass rushers more time to get to the QB. Even with all of that, I believe Mahomes was 12-14 passing in the first half with an amazing TD pass.

Exactly. On top of Bosa/Mack being the worst matchup imaginable, they were blitzing way more than usual.

We won't be seeing pressure like that until we play them again.

Exactly. It was Bosa and Mack for Christ’s sake. They blitzed twice as much as either game last year. The Chargers are a very, very good team. The rancor here is pretty ridiculous.

The Chargers have specifically built their defense to try to beat the Chiefs, and they just lost to the Chiefs again.

They traded for Mack, they gave JC Jackson a big contract, they signed Callahan to play slot corner. They added Von Noy, Fox.

The Chargers spent big money and draft capital on their defense, supposedly already a strength, because they couldn't beat Kansas City. Then Kansas City plays a C- game and still beats them.

They are not trash but there were issues last night. I will say this much. When Mack, Bosa and James are coming that's rough for any OL in the league.

This, That is a pretty stout d,

God, what would this team look like with bosa on it.

Not every team we will play has a mack, bosa and that other LB whos name starts with a T. Sorry forgot his name they also have Van Noy not a bad player either.

Of course there were issues.....
-the Dolts D front is a very veteran group with 2 top tier Edge guys,
-an insane Derwin James playing a hybrid role,
-Van Noy coming in at spots to create havoc,
-blitzing a third of the time against a team operating on a short week (which in my opinion will always favor the athlete more than the scheme....)
-and our starting guard playing on a soft ankle

Is it such a surprise there were issues? Believe me, I'm not defending Brown by any stretch, and he sure does need to play better, but I wasn't surprised at all the the OL as a group struggled.
