Maybe our DL is a lot better than we thought
From last week:



Now this week I saw this screen shot with a little under 5 mins left in the game.

39 drop backs
2 sacks
3 QB hits
6 hurries

Updated after the game ESPN app shows we have EIGHT QB hits. Damn our pressure seems a lot better this year. It’s mainly bc Karlaftis and Dunlap are way better than what Frank and Okafor gave us last year, Frank has been better and Mike ****ing Danna has played real well. What a surprise that man has been for us.

Little early but been genuinely impressed by Danna. If he stays at this level I honestly think that could as important for us this year as the Karlaftis pick. Sure, his ceiling is significantly lower, but if somethings clicked, who knows, maybe he's better than an OK rotational piece. We don't just need quality at DE we need depth.

Would also like to see Chenal get more pass rush reps. Technically he's not there but he's a battering ram

Jones looks unbelievable but the rest of the DT stable is still pretty meh.

Just watched the game a third time. The Chiefs actually go some edge pressure in the first half. The Chargers missing starters in the 2nd half helped, especially freeing up Jones (Zion Johnson was really good) but it wasn’t night and day different between the two halves.

If the Chiefs make the SB this year it’s probably bc of Joe Cullen and Dave Merritt. The jobs these guys have done with their units is outstanding.

“Frank Clark ****ing sucks! We’re paying him so much!” Doesn’t matter when rookie contract players like Mike Danna and George Karlaftis are getting paid less than $3 million. Add to that Carlos Dunlap who is making $3 milliion this year.

The youth on this team is just crazy.
