Well imagine my surprise to see Hardman and MVS shit talking in this thread this morning...

Huh? Those guys were both damn good last night. Hardman made a couple of really nice plays and threw a MASSIVE block to spring Kelce on a TD. MVS was the best receiver we had - by a fair amount. Yes, he had a drop when he wasn't ready for the ball...aight.

But he made 2-3 really nice hand-catching plays. He wasn't letting the ball get into his body but was plucking it from the air and making things happen in space.

That was a better game than I expected to get from him at any point this season. And not just in how he produced, but how he produced it.

That was a MASSIVE step-forward game for him and makes me think there's still a chance that he becomes a guy PM really comes to trust and can be counted on as a long-term X here. That's a really encouraging ballgame from him.

Hell Mahomes goes to him more needing a first down than juju.

Tonight when Mahomes had time it seemed like all the wrs were winning more than earlier this season.
He shows far better catch technique than his reputation suggests.

Honestly, I think the reputation comes from one bad season and a QB that acted like a little bitch (and all too often got the benefit of the doubt) anytime things didn't go his way.

In 2020 MVS dropped 7 balls on 63 targets. That's a bad year - can't have that. However, in his remaining 3+ years in the league he's seen 215 targets and dropped....7 balls. That's a 3% drop rate over the rest of his career.

I don't think he's the stonelayer that people have accused him of out there. Catching is about technique and he has it. Does he have the short area explosion I'd like to see? Nah - but he has good long speed and he's far more physical than he's sold as. And his hands are fine.

MVS is an asset and I'm not sure that's something I'm willing to say about JJSS at this time.

The drop was a little frustrating, but only about 1/4 as frustrating as seeing Clyde getting hit in the back of the helmet with a ball.

Yeah alot of people on CP did. In fact, he is our #1 WR right now and thats pretty scary. There are 20 to 25 teams that have not one but two WRs better than any of the ones we got.

I don't think we are quite Super Bowl ready with our WR corp. This team is one #1 WR away from winning a SB imo. Eventually relying on TEs and RBs to throw virtually all your TDs to will catch up with you.

Yeah - it really held the Patriots back...

4-1 and in the top 5, if not the top 3, in nearly every meaningful offensive category.

Yeah, that sure is "scary".

1st in the league in points scored. Without Tyreek.

Now what did we learn this year, pals? Perhaps with a generational QB his OL is more important than WR’s. Get the man a strong OL and and quality array of weapons and he’ll be fine

And lets not forget that he's playing on an injured heel that will no doubt nag him all season.

Dude made a great down the field play, aggravated his heel and then came back in the next play or two to take the pitch.

You're not the only one, but some of y'all need to understand that 2018-19 Chiefs offense wasn't ever happening again.

Opposing defenses basically turned Tyreek Hill into a possession receiver. They just simply were not going to allow that anymore. They were selling out to stop it. Daring us to run the ball and throw it short.

We're proving now that we can do that, and more importantly WILL do that. In turn, this will open the deep shots.

Brady won most of his SB's with jags and Gronk.

If we don't win, it won't be because of the WR corps. It will be because of subpar OT play, or lack of pass rush, in my opinion.

But there's a lot of football left, and we'll see.

One could argue that it was on Andy and Pat for letting teams turn Hill into a possession WR.

But there's no point in even talking about it.
