2011 they were killing teams like a snake squeezes its prey, boring, but ruthless. |

You don't know those teams... or maybe you're just an Alex fanboy. In 2011, we couldn't convert on 3rd downs ALL year.. almost every game was like 1-12, 1-11, 1-13 on 3rd downs. That year it was our defense and special teams, constantly getting us good field positions. But eventually in the playoffs, you can only hide that for so long. It was the same in the playoffs... 1 for something on 3rd downs against the Saints.. we barely won (Alex did hit/make key plays, but it shouldn't have been that close)... and in the playoffs, we should have put the Giants away, but nope... same shit. This time our main KR was hurt, and we had to Try Hard Kyle Williams to return punts. Alex didn't complete ONE pass to a WR that game I believe. Our 2012 team.. we needed our offense against the Packers... fell behind by 17 against the Falcons (at their stadium, NFC Championship game).. came back with Kap's arm and key first down runs (like you've seen Mahomes do)... then in the Super Bowl against the Ravens.. funky broken plays to Jacoby Jones and a KR..a bunch of stuff early on. (Kap had an INT to Reed in the 1st QTR I believe)... either way, again we came back... but at the goal line Jim Roman and Harbs called idiotic plays imo. But that team had Kap, Gore, Vernon Davis, Delaine Walker, Crabtree, Randy Moss (more of a decoy to clear out the middle of the field.) We went with that offense to New England that year and beat them. Many around the nation missed half of it because of the Presidential Address, if I remember correctly. But yeah that offense was tough to stop. The only thing that would slow it down was Harbaugh himself. Would start running out the clock in the f'n 3rd qtr as soon as we had a 10+ pt lead... three run calls in the row. He just wanted to win at the end, didn't care about putting teams away.
