Josh allen (bills)

Has almost 100 rushing yds against the jets and 2 interceptions. Currently down against the jets, but that could change.

Allen reminds me of a prime Cam newton. He's physical and isn't afraid to use his body to take punishment. But I can't help but think he'll have a shorter career like cam as a result of it.

Thoughts? (Slow day waiting for the chiefs)

Reddit seems to think he starts tomorrow. If so good for him, glad it wasn’t as bad an injury as some feared. Don’t want any excuses when KC wraps up HFA again.

The bottom line is the only people who know how bad the injury is/was have been as tight lipped about it as possible. Everything else is just speculation, and hope I guess. They obviously felt he was good enough to not bring up another qb. I bet he wasn’t that injured to begin with, and it’s been lots of gamesmanship from McDermitt.

Bills didn’t call up their PS quarterback by 4pm today (the deadline).

That means either Allen is playing or Keenum has no backup.

Well, Bills kinda went “all-in” this year. They’re pretty much maxed on the cap, they signed Von Miller, some players like Ed Oliver and Gabe Davis are going to want to get paid this off-season, and we have a lot of free agents next year: Edmunds, Poyer, Morse, Saffold, Singletary, Jackson, Crowder, Lawson … just to name a few.

The Bills were supposed to win the SB last year, but a horrible coaching decision and amazing QB ruined that. They need to win it this year.

Sorry, I do not understand. You say this as if Andrew luck and Chad Pennington didn’t create serious almost career ending injuries because they rushed back too soon. Or as if we aren’t a few weeks away from tua telling doctors he was ok when he undoubtedly had a concussion.

We’re talking about a regular season game from a team who is close to a playoff lock. It feels irresponsible to me. The player is always going to insist on playing. The coach has the discretion to sit a player even if everything technically checks out.

Even NFL.com seems to think he starts. McDermitt just played the league for a week.

That’s true. Hadnt considered that possibility.

Still, I think he starts. If you’re willing to play him as a backup (where you could be needed at any moment), then he’s healthy enough to play.

Like I said, the bottom line is the majority of what’s been said has been pure speculation. I could be way off base here, but seem to me the Bills took the story that was presented, and let the media/fans run with whatever they were trying to push. They can hold Josh out of practice, even if he’s not too injured and run with the story. It’s mid season, I don’t think a couple missed practices in the middle of the season will affect his play one way or another. The Bills may have just completely played the league for a week.
