My all-time Chiefs teams by round

For discussion purposes, here's my all-time Chiefs team by each round of the draft. I'd like to do free agent teams as well, but that would be a lot more work.

My rule is that I only considered their contributions for the Chiefs. I didn't want to pollute the team with a bunch of old AFL draftees who went to the NFL and never played for the Chiefs.

I do occasionally change a lineup a little if the reason is compelling, or I'll move a player's position slightly (e.g., ILB to OLB) if warranted.

Also, if a slot is blank it means we've never drafted someone in that position (or at some positions we didn't draft two).

That was a tough call, and I could go either way. Neither player was ever active on game day for the Chiefs as far as I could tell, so I picked Hogan just because he ended up getting one start for Cleveland and was a game-day active occasionally in three seasons for them, so I figure he was the better player of the two.

And yeah, Cleveland. I recognize that that's a hole in my logic.

I would too, but I'm not sure how to get a list of free agents without a ton of work.

I'll help. Here's one-- Len Dawson.

Okay, I think you can take it from here.

We also had Eddie Freeman and Turk McBride, so the #2 spot after Chris Jones is open for debate.

Same here. His last season in KC he was playing good. I never imagined that he would go on to have a hall of fame career for the Saints. But I did think at the time that he should have been kept. Seeing the career he had really poured salt in that wound.

In retrospect, Turk McBride clearly earned the #2 spot with Chris Jones. He got 10 starts in his two years with the team, whereas Siavii didn't start at all, nor did Eddie Freeman. McBride also had more tackles by a long shot. I'm going to edit that entry since I'm in error there.
