Mahomes has washed away nearly ALL of the 47 years of trauma I have had as a Chiefs fan in his short time here.

One more Super Bowl will make it go away.

Truly incredible.

For me the greatest thing Mahomes has done is make 3rd and long/very long conversions a common thing and expected. We NEVER converted those before Mahomes, NEVER.

The thing is that nobody else really converts those at an even decent rate. He's by far the best in history at it (because he is the best in history at the position).

In a nutshell that is how good you are as a QB...how well you can perform on 3rd down. Anyone can complete 1st down throws in a run dominated offense like Tennessee or some of those old New England teams.

To me it’s Mahomes / Reid era which will likely be the best stretch of his career as the former will outlast the latter here presumably. Reid is the perfect coach for the greatest qb talent I have ever seen.

He seems to have a sixth sense and everything slows down for him as the play develops. You can see it as he navigates down the field. This is a special talent and he has it in spades. He seems to know what the defender is going to do and he reacts to it before it happens. It's still hard to believe that we got him at the 10th pick in the draft and nobody else could see his potential.
