The race for the #1 seed in the AFC

With Buffalo losing to NY today, if we beat Tennessee tonight we will be tied for 1st place in the AFC but Buffalo owns the head to head tiebreaker.

It’s going to be interesting to see the energy KC comes out with tonight.

I’m just saying I have little confidence in the defense to get stops vs the Bengals. Hopefully they’d raise their play at home.

If that stayed, KCs easiest path would be for Baltimore to beat Miami.

Updated. So as of today our path would likely be:

WC-Chargers at home
Div-Bengals at home
AFCCG-Bills on the road

That is worst case scenario damn

Yeah if they are healthy having to beat a division opponent a third time will be a challenge.

Hypothetically speaking if theses seedings stay the same going to the last week and no chance to get the 1 seed do you lose on purpose to move down a spot if possible?

I'm reluctant to say that the Chargers will ever actually win games they are supposed to, but they really should rise to the #5 or #6 seed before the end of the season given their schedule (3 of their remaining opponents are awful in LAR, DEN and IND and the other is TEN). As long as we stay at least at the #2, we'll probably avoid them.

Definitely rather play Dolphins. Chargers should pass them.

Chiefs vs Colts 17-20

Chiefs vs Jaguars 27-17

Chiefs vs Broncos 34-28

Chiefs vs Raiders 30-29

Are we an elite team with these extremely close games vs VERY BAD teams?

That would indeed suck. But I think the best case scenario is more likely, given the schedules.

KC 1 seed, Bills 2

Chiefs get the winner of Baltimore/Tennessee, while Buffalo/Miami/Bengals/Chargers all beat each other up for the right to come to KC for the AFC Championship.

Trey Hendrickson injured. He might still play, but maybe this will limit him some.

Quote:
The surging Bengals took a big hit today when their leading pass rusher, Trey Hendrickson, suffered a broken wrist during today’s win over the Browns, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Despite the injury, Hendrickson finished the game, ensuring a win for the Bengals.

Hendrickson currently leads the team in both sacks and quarterback hits with six and 22, respectively. Hendrickson combines with starting defensive end Sam Hubbard to form one the league’s more pressuring duos. Between the two, they total 11.5 sacks, 39 quarterback hits, and 16 tackles for loss. While Hendrickson’s pace of sack production has been slower than last season’s 14-sack performance, he is still a leader on Cincinnati’s defense and will be a tough player to replace.
